Yeah I know, I might have made a thread or two about this game in the past... it's only normal I've had it since I bought my PS2. Picked it up at the same time, used for a couple of bucks.

But then that was just a token act to say I had it.

It never got much play, in fact up 'till earlier today, I wasn't farther in the game than the 1st gp of extra class.

So I'm not really late to the party... I was just sitting in a corner drinking a diet coke...

I know, I'm pathetic.

But anyway, no more Xbox and no more DC means I have to kill time somehow. my PS2 options are as follows:

1: GT3
2: RRV

Well I got bored of gold-ing license tests in GT3 so I picked RR again.

'Went into the design menu, whipped up the exact color of my car and got going. My forst race was a sudden death bayside line race in the 2nd GP with that DRFTDVL track.

wow.

And so for the last few hours I was busy working my way through the extra class, and now I think I'll enjoy the oval engine a lot, especially on the not oval tracks :D

So that's it with a grip car. kinda short, I wish there had been another series of races, but still, other cars to use, more oval engines to obtain :D

RRV is my pick for best racing game this gen. I still play it weekly, although after I spent the time to wipe out every CPU record there isn't really anything left to accomplish (except the 99 lap race again...)

The drift controls are so smooth it's insane. Of course, the game still has oddities, like not much content (although the track types that are there are quite good) and no real drift/grip differentiation (both types are really drift...just that grip doesn't seem to lose it on the end of a slide often)

Someone was late to the party for Super Mario Bros on NES last week or the week before. Relatively speaking you've sneaked in, and started mingling so everyone thinks you got there on time.. or you're fashionably late. Whatever. :p

First time I played the import (back in mid 2000), I didn't expect it, but it's now my favorite racer this gen. Smooth controls and great tracks, that makes me want to replay the races forever. Ridge Racers has a shot at upstaging it, though.

"Someone was late to the party for Super Mario Bros on NES last week or the week before."

Eh, that's a party I still haven't been to... and have no plans to go... ever :p

It's never to late to attend the RRV party. Best arcade racing game I've played. BTW, I hope you're playing on hard mode. It has an extra racing class...and its much more satisfying. Also, oval engines suck, they make the cars nearly unplayable on regular circuits, you actually get a better speed average with the extra engines. Then again, there's always the Angelus if you want speed. :P
