It would be helpful to have a universally valid definition of "woke." Some people already use it if the lead is a woman or non white. Others think it's only woke if a black woman with one side of her head shaved is effortlessly beating up groups of men while shouting to her female asian lover "Kick their/them/theys' asses!".

Both sides label things they don't like as problematic. Currently saros is in radar of anti-wokes just like Hogwarts legacy was in radar of wokes. Same shit. It's annoying and ruining any and all game discussion

I think what happened was for a good stretch there they just fucking beat us over the head with gay this, gay that, trans this, trans that, white bad, black good etc... Literally nonstop for a while there that it's now just an instant knee-jerk reaction to say it's woke even if they've reeled some stuff back in.

Its hard to not see once you see. Like in the world of TV shows anymore it's honestly amazing when a show doesn't have a lesbian couple or someone gay, I never cared but I cared after it seemingly was clubbed in my face for years. But I think for me what's woke is when you can spot the whatever it may be, gay romance a mile away for instance.. Meaning it's so utterly predictable because it's shoved in so that it's simply a pat on the back display and not woven in to a story with thought and care. That's sorta where woke starts for me personally.
 
To work in Hollywood you got to be woker than the sunrise, and the man is the biggest Hollywood weeaboo to ever walk the face of the earth.

If entertainment media hadn't "overcorrected" by making an unbeatable kickass Mary Sue with a totally unbelievable "development" arc the main character of two thirds of big projects released in the last half a decade or so, maybe it would be a bit easier to not raise an eyebrow as soon as a game/movie's lead is revealed to be a woman, regardless of color and hair (or lack thereof).

One created the other. I see this remark thrown in every now and then and it never makes fucking sense. If you dislike anti-woke then your dislike should still be thrown on the original perpetrator as one does not exist without the other and the original is responsible for both.

You're right, we've been bombarded for years, so now some people see it behind every bush.

For me, it's "woke" when i get the feeling something was included just for the sake of being there, and not because it serves the story or fits into it well. In short, when it feels like an unnecessary element. But i've also learned to look past it when it's not too bad, like in the last season of Sex Education. My god, that was bad.

I suggested this almost 4 years ago. Nothing has changed. No universal definition fully set. Still works as per-person vibes.

Lol I thought the same thing. Maybe I'm crazy but I feel like this role exist when a company is hiring from all over the world - they exist to bridge cultural gaps so the teams work together. I personally see nothing wrong with it.

Yea that's what I was meaning when it's thrown in just to be thrown in, like I noticed in so many shows if there's a family one of the kids will turn the corner and be gay... And all I say is when it's every show now it feels fake and I've actually seen gay people say they are even tired of this so if they're saying it then imo that says something.

Or like for instance when nobody can just be friends anymore in a show or movie, that to me is woke. Like they just can't be close buddies or girls having girlfriends, it's literally automatic they're gay and I find that so far fetched when it's every.fucking.show
 
Nonsense outrage. Since day 1 Kojima T had Germans and other Westerners working at the studio. Of course it makes sense to hire someone to help be a cultural and language bridge.

What's more funny to me is that one of the available positions is "General" is Kojima T going to war?

It makes no difference to my point. Any dislike for anti-woke should be thrown towards woke as that is what created and is responsible for both. The sooner woke completely dies, the sooner the anti-woke goes with it and the world is a better place.

I love death stranding 1 and 2 and both are clean but Holywood influence is affecting his brain. OD might be his first fall to transgenderism because the game will have Hunter schaefer a biological male and we are still not sure about physint if it remains very based.
 
Woke is going to become the new counter culture / punk scene in 5 years time and us gaffers will only be playing the cool games with the trannies and the minorities.

Woke is when a black kid gets the talk from their parents that explains racism in society. Everything else that followed was cultural appropriation by leftists.
 
It's not bad. it says it helps with translation and communication. I have friends who work there (Kojima Productions) and their Japanese is rough. Even if Kojima Productions paid for Japanese classes, it would take time, and most of them have hit a wall due to age (yes, learning a new language after 40 while working full-time and dealing with kanji is brutal).

So they want someone to help with communication. Some of the work is very technical — AI helps with translating Slack messages or documentation. When we get a new SDK, only seniors or managers have access, and we need to communicate with them to get access without any documentation to refer to.

I don't know how many NeoGAF users work in tech, but even in the US, some teams speak mostly Chinese or Hindi internally, leaving English-speaking management completely out of the loop 😂

My impression is that whenever someone uses the word "woke" unironically, unquoted and leads right with it, there is a very high chance that you're talking to such an "already" case.

Of course, this is GAF, so this might as well just be someone bored and doing a little trolling service free of charge.

Kojima is a globalist, you can see this quite early on in the Metal Gear games if you were paying attention. He's also obsessed with Americana and Hollywood and that overshadows everything else. I thought Death Stranding was nonsense though.
