i'm going to give my parents my old router (linksys BEFSR41) since i got a new wireless router. but the problem is i am unable to find the CD that came with the router. is there anyway to have it work properly on my parents computers without it? can i download the necessary files online? I looked on google but i just get "update firmware" downloads. any help would be appreciated

A router shouldn't require any software at all (especially on Windows XP). It should appear as nothing more than a network connection to the PC.

Why people don't just go the manufacturers web page is beyond me.

That took like 20 secs to find. That page has links to the user guide, firmware updates and quick install guides.
