is there an alternative to the iTrip for playing your iPod in a car?

the iTrip kind of sucks. in fact it really sucks.

for some reason it seems to not work well when you're in the middle of nowhere, which defeats the entire purpose of its existence.

It's not working on ANY frequency? You have the whole FM radio spectrum, and you can't find ONE station that has nothing on it to provide you with the crisp clear iTrip sound? I live in Seattle, and even with a cluttered spectrum, it works great. And I just drove all around the Western US, and had no problems with it either. Just keep on trying stations.

Or you will be stuck with a tape adaptor.

it works on any empty frequency i set it to, but the signal gets lost pretty easily, even when i'm not going very far away. and when i took it to king's canyon and sequoia national parks, it didn't work at all when i was outside of civilization
