I've only been using eBay for about 3 months now. I just got this e-mail out of the blue when I really haven't bought anything in the last month. Is this a scam?

Yes, it's a scam. EBay will not send you emails with links like that. You can even confirm by looking at the web address the link points you to. The link has nothing to do with ebay.

I noticed that too. I thought it was a bit fishy. It's a good thing I didn't click on it.

got the same email last week. did some research---ebay has great support for all this scam stuff.

anyways, ebay doesn't email you ever asking for info.

That same scam has been going on for almost a year. I've been getting that email every week for the past year. I've told ebay about it and even told them the email address where it sends your information, but they haven't done anything about it. Guess they don't really care... I bet you a bunch of people have gotten scammed over that though. I almost did. I got to filling it out half way until I checked the url and was like... wtf?

I got this same e-mail the other day, only instead of eBay it was faking PayPal.
I actually logged into my PayPal account to update my info, but it said nothing like that on the site.

The typos and wording should be enough to clue people in that it's a scam.

welcome to the internet. Phishing is one of the most common things scammers do. Don't EVER trust an email to you regarding "account information." I probalby get 20 of those a day in my various junk email boxes.
