Is Tiny Tina's Wonderlands worth it?

Alright, so on Xbox I have a personal deal for this game, the Chaotic great Edition which normally costs 90 euro is now 13,50.

Now I love Borderlands 1 and 2, especially Handsome Jack as villain but also overall it definitely is the kind of humor I can appreciate, with TPS as well. And I really enjoyed the Dragon's Keep DLC of Borderlands 2. 3 I enjoyed gameplay wise but it failed miserably with the humor and characters.

I know about the whole woke shit and what not, apparently some gay characters are in the game, but I also hear the hate on it for that is way overblown. What say you? Is it cringe as hell like 3 or genuinely plenty funny and enjoyable like 1, 2(and DLC) and TPS?

I didn't like it.

I played 15 minutes before quitting it and never going back. I got past the cringe cut scene into the first area and just thought "why the fuck am I playing this". Quit the game and deleted it, never to go back.

In that regard I'm not the best person to ask and I've just wasted a few minutes typing this absolutely pointless post. Sorry.

Characters are not as bad as in Borderlands 3. But it's still the same sort of humor (or lack thereof).
There is also a decent amount of LGBT characters.
But gameplay is fun and the graphics and design are great.
One thing to consider is that it only supports FSR2.0, though you can inject XeSS, FSR4 or DLSS with Optiscaler.

It's way better than 3 for sure.

It has its share of woke characters including a Marcus Fenix parody with fairy wings so it may be a problem for some. The entire story is about a tabletop RPG so you get a lot of nerd jokes.

The classes are way more interesting than their Borderlands equivalents too.

It falls off hard after the intro, I thought it was gonnah go deeper into the fantasy dnd aspect and do more switch ups where tina just changes the level.

The spells were cool though

It's very… okay. Once it actually occurred to me that it was the first game in the series to be rated T instead of M, I suddenly couldn't stop noticing it. A lot less hyper violence and gore, a lot more toilet humor instead.

Live a little, yolo that shit.

Worst case scenario you lose 13 bucks. That's like, what.. 3 bananas?

Bought it and me and my bro are having plenty fun with it. Some stuff I find funny, some stuff is just whatever. One thing though, no grenades at all? :(

Honestly it's pretty fun (especially co-op). The writing is batshit stupid, but it managed to get some chuckles out of me far more often than BL3 did.

BL3 is the better game, with a better endgame and some good dlc. It just has insanely annoying characters.

I stopped playing when I saw Paladin Mike, some kind of weird trans-shemale character with a female voice, a vaguely androgynous body, and a beard.

Gearbox took it upon themselves to be preachy and combined with the cringe Gen Z/millennial writing, this made the game unbearable.

I actually thought the writing and humor were worse than BL3. The whole thing is framed as some wacky ironic D&D game and the joke gets old in about 30 seconds. It's the kind of thing that would've seemed really clever and funny in like 2003, but nowadays it feels about as funny as stale played out internet memes. Like "the cake is a lie"

Plus you have to hear Tiny Tina and the Wanda Sykes blaccent robot yapping nonstop trying soooooooo so hard to be funny and random.

If you're dying for more Borderlands gameplay it can be pretty fun. The class system and character creation are cool. Just keep your expectations very low for the writing.

Hmm don't know about any woke shit in the game but it's more of the same. If you haven't played a borderlands in a while grab it cause that's pretty cheap.

I got it at launch and that was a big mistake. I'm over the series

I don't really care for Borderlands humour, it's not funny and it hurts to listen to. That being said, I really enjoyed TTW. That's maybe because I love Dungeons and Dragons and this is essentially a TTRPG being played and you play as one of the characters. It's not overly long either. Worth it at that price.

No Way Funny Meme GIF

The gameplay is fun but the writing is uncomfortably cringe. I ended up dropping the game because vibe offended my sensibilities.
