Also, for reference USB 1.1 is 12Mbps (I think, it's either that or 48, but I think 48 is the max for a USB hub, with each device running a max of 12).

Why the hell do they say USB2.0 is 480mbps when it only ends up being 40mbps on average?

USB1.1 = ~1MB/s
USB2.0 = ~5MB/s

A far cry from the claimed 60 MB/s of USB2.0.

Is it going to get better or is this just going to be a perpetual lie of USB2.0?

Not so much a lie as a misconception. I think the trouble is that the oft-published transfer rate for USB 2.0 is the *burst* rate. But it doesn't matter, Firewire 800 renders it moot.

Yea, I like all the ass wigglin, but DCB's was probably 2-4 years ago, not that it really matters
