The law does nothing about it. In Canada Indians are only hiring their own. Tim hortons is nothing but them, but it’s the same at other places like Walmart, security guards, ect. They clearly will only hire their own. So why is it the law which states this is illegal to hire based on race is doing nothing about it. Why are we not collectively doing something about this. We should be bringing this to frontlines, these corporations need to be taken to court for completely ignoring the law, but that won’t work either because the law are just showing that this is what they want by passing a blind eye. This is illegal supposedly yet that doesn’t matter because the law doesn’t apply to Indians.

Probably falls under "politics" but: My extended family lives in Toronto and have made similar complaints. Probably too late to fix this issue for Canada. Can't really deport as they came legally. The bar for who's allowed to come got lower and lower each year to where they were basically accepting uneducated people in addition to the "highly skilled" immigrants.

Exactly. My nieces and nephews are never gonna be able to get these jobs. These summer part time jobs are all taken by them. Something needs to be done. What do we do when all hiring managers are Indian. Than it will be impossible to get any job in Canada.

You have many forums on the internet where you can openly discuss politics. All you want is to rant about something you don't like, which you'll get push back from others about, and it descends into a pointless back and forth.

Banning politics was the most valuable thing this site has done.

The dunkin donuts in Queens were owned by Indians and run by indians, pakistanis, bangladeshis and some hispanics who all lived in those neighborhoods. i knew the owner and he didnt exclusively hire them. he just hired whoever came to work for him and it was mostly people who lived in the neighborhoods. i dont go to popeyes and accuse them of only hiring black people. thats just where popeyes are located. most mcdonalds in my suburb are now full of hispanics when just ten years ago, it was mostly white. the managers and franchise owners are still white. its just demographics. they are hiring who is available and the workforce for these jobs right now seems to be mostly hispanic.

If you think this is a conspiracy, go talk to a lawyer and get the attention of some news organizations. Complaining on gaf wont solve these problems.

Like SlimySnake said ... Demographics of the area they're hiring in. You probably wouldn't say anything if it was all white kids being hired in those specific places you're talking about if the demographics of the area(s) were mostly white... Because that tracks with logic.

Not that I disagree but it seems like some political threads are not off limits. We have threads that have been up for a couple of days about cancel culture and developers calling people out over pronouns.

They're hiring Indians because the temporary foreign workers and international students are predominantly Indian. With that being said, a lot of these places also have large amount of Fillipinos and Nigerians, who make are the second and third most common demographic, working too. The people doing the hiring are not necessarily Indians - they employers who want the cheapest possible labour. The government has already faced a tremendous amount of backlash over this and been forced to do a complete 180 on their immigration platform within recent weeks, so it's not true that "nothing is being done about this".

We had a Pol forum ... It got nuked. It says so on the top of this page.... Of EVERY page on GAF... It was chaos.... NO!

In another decade or so cglobal warming will make the other 95% of your frozen tundra of a country livable and ya'll can finally movve out of the 2 cities you are all packing into. Rejoice!
