It seems that Star Citizen is running out of money.

Hey if you can't keep a studio going after milking whales for $800 million over the last 8 years then you probably weren't ever trying to create a sustainable studio anyway

After 15 years of being scammed community started to realize something. What a wise community it is.
Star Citizen fans after a decade

Sometimes I feel bad for getting my brother in law to buy in to the kickstarter. Thankfully it's been almost ten years so he's forgiven me.

The video I watched reported that one of these initiatives was also limited time only, so people could buy an item to give them an advantage and once the selling period ends, anyone who didn't buy that stuff is at a disadvantage.

No, that's not true at all.

1. Until the next month's patch, blades have to be purchased from the RSI store. After that they'll be available for in-game currency.

2. Blades works so that you nerf one stat to buff another. The stat difference is negligible.

It's pretty much just another little thing to play around with when it comes to customization.

But yeah, CIG definitely screwed up the optics of this.

EDIT: Yup, I just saw someone confirming that the performance difference with and without blades will be about ~0.995% 🎉

(Clarification, it will vary slightly from stat to stat, and equally negatively and positively so)

Really?

wow, its fucking nothing lol.

The crafting specs they showcased in last citizencon for 1.0 have way more impact than that.

Yeah, it's funny to look back on how ugly it looked back then. Good thing it was delayed! 🤡

Anytime someone seethes that it should have released back then I can't help but have a chuckle

Comical even for 2014 demo. It still had the crysis use button which I guess was hardcoded in the engine.
It looks to run so slow with jpeg planets ala Starfield. Cutscene to entry, "whiteout" to hide the loading. Approach and landing on-rail sequence to hangar.

Its now a completely different game and for the better.

I rechecked, Gladius B Blade

Buffed speed (deg/sec) while non-boost
Pitch: +0.99%
Yaw: +1.4%
Roll: +3.9%

But like I said, Blades are trade-offs, so the nerf for the same blade:

Nerfed speed (deg/sec) while boost
Pitch: -1.2%
Yaw: -6.3%
Roll: -0.8%

Edit: I inverted - and +.. Corrected now

There are also other stats, I only did the above as an example.

F.ex. the combat speed for the Gladius ship will be nerfed by 4.1% by installing the B blade...

If I did it wrong, tell me:

Its so specific. I guess peoples that PVP in arena will tweak something to get an advantage I'm sure but in PU that's really of no consequences. Your chances of survival are by and large on much bigger factors like who jumped who and in what environment than puny stats like this. Not impressed. Likely won't even be looking to install those.

Jesus $800million raised purely from players is absolutely staggering fueling a development company employing around 1300 people, yet they are still in Alpha after 15yrs, i dunno man, i'm a simple dude but even i can recognise that something ain't right with those figures, any other competent studio would've probably had a sequel out by now, i know this game is ambitious but fuck me Rockstar managed to get out GTA5, RDR2 & will have the absolutely massive GTA6 out all while Star Citizen is still in development.. come the fuck on lol

Anyways with the sort of fanbase this game has and the money its raised surely a more competent game developer can see there's a huge audience ready to milk dry for an open world persistent space game, the figures don't lie, this is an untapped mass of people willing to spend big bucks just to fly around in cool ships with each other and you're telling me there's no other devs out there that couldn't spit out a decent space game?
