Mac's style has always been a combo of combed/slicked back hair and stubble/beard where as off season Rob usually keeps clean shaven and has his hair, well, like how it looks now in this trailer.
Just feels less like I'm watching Mac and just watching Rob be his normal self, mix that in with him not writing as much due to being busy with Wrexham and other sport stuff, kinda feels like he's checked out.

So is the new stuff funny? After seeing how they blacklisted some old episodes and considering "modern audience" stuff, I can't imagine that they do the types of jokes that they used to. Doesn't mean they couldn't do something new and funny though. I haven't seen an episode since the first time the show supposedly "ended", not sure which season it was.
How far back are you taking? The arbitration episode is one of my favourites and they're doing this in it

He turned into a typical celebrity douche in real life and completely forgot how to play the character.
I don't think it's a coincidence that the show started to miss more than hit in season 13.

I think it's still worth watching for the most part. Some of the episodes last season were among their most outrageous, albeit in a South Park "this is a crazy and nasty idea" way rather than a "this is going to offend people" way. Like the Rocky episode with Frank playing chess which had an absolutely ludicrous ending.

The only episodes that got pulled were where they painted themselves black. The rest of the humour remains.

De Vito and Charlie look like the only ones from the main cast that haven't had very obvious plastic surgery and strive for Hollywood "perfection".
But it's more than that. The general look of the show has changed so much that it doesn't really resemble what it did. The cast have acknowledged and argued about the look, but it's more than just poorly lit 4:3 SD show vs professionally lit 16:9 4K. That makes it look sanitised and sterile, but they're not the only things.
When I got into Sunny I binged every episode that existed, which at the time was about 12 series. Couldn't get enough. The last series was more like people who used to play those roles trying to relive the glory days but not quite succeeding because they just look like actors calling each other their character names.
I wasn't particularly enthusiastic about the idea of another series, but this crossover thing looks so weak that it just left me confused. If they're that starved for ideas just don't bother making it at all.

Should just be a single episode, Abbott Elementary also had a crossover with Sunny on their show. No idea if it was any good as I don't watch it.
