So I thought I'd post some photos from my family's farm in North Queensland. We've had it for about 10 years, bought it when we used to live up there. Originally it was a real mess, scrap metal and weeds everywhere and lots of errosion.

The place is about 200 acres, with a creek and a river running through it. A mixture of rainforest and some open paddocks, and it backs onto state forest.

My dad's into forestry so we've planted a lot of trees up there, approx 12,000 all up. A mixture of hoop pines, silky oaks, white and red cedars, eucaliptus grandus (forgot the common name) and some native rainforest stuff. Also some fruit and nut trees near the house.

Its great country, up in the mountains behind Mackay on a tableland...some really nice soil and rainfall. There's a small dairy farming community there, also some other growers including oranges, strawberries and garlic. A guy who lives down the road pays us to run his dairy cows on the property, you can see some in the photos.

Does anyone else here have a farm in the family or anything like that? Post some pictures if you do.

That's quite a sight. Do you still go up there often?

These days not so much, generally I only go there over christmas for 3 or 4 weeks to do some planting etc.
My dad gets up there a lot more because he's in the area on business.

It's a long way to travel there from Canberra.

fuck i don't know why, but I read the title as "It's good to have poverty" I thinking that you are really rubbing it in :lol.

my parents have 10 acres about 10 kilometres outside of Christchurch NZ. Thats all though.

At lot of the farmland in northern NSW is rather nice too. It's lovely looking country when driving past with deep valleys and rolling hills of lush green farmland along the roadside.
