1GB of VRAM... that's insane.

If Doom 3 uses something close to 400MB of textures in the Ultra Quality Setting (for one level) I wonder how many GBs of textures one scene in Shrek 1 has...
 
wow... this would benefit from that liquid metal cooling tech more than anything...

those 2 cards in close proximity will be grilling the other internal components.
 
Frankly I think it's money best put towards a next-gen console.
 
There isn't a game yet I have performance problems due to only 128 megs of ram on my 6600GT. Developers should be focusing on procedural texture techniques to lessen the need for more and more expensive ram.

From my understanding of it, SLI video cards don't share each others RAM. Since the textures are duplicated on each card, it wouldnt make any difference anyways... so 2x 512MB SLI is still 512MB of VRAM.
