Damnable hurricanes, left us in Austin without rain, not a cloud in the sky, and the second or third day in a row of 105+ degree weather. Thurday's cold front can't come soon enough.

It's been really, really hot here in Athens OH for like, the past week >_< Finally today it rained and things cooled off, and now I'm itching to get outside.

Amen. My little weather widget currently has us pegged 105. Its September 26th! It just shouldn't be this hot anymore! I want fall already damnit.

Pfft, just be glad you have electricity. Power was out at both my parent's house and my apartment for like two days after Hurrican Burrito. Try sleeping in that shit and tell me what's hot.

Here in Oklahoma, it's about 95 constantly--I would kill for even a DAY of San Diego-esque weather...I love having to change clothes every time you get back from class.

You should try to wear something that dissipates your heat or something.

Cloudwalking, your avatar is AWESOME. Where teh crap did you get it?

I guess he means Rita?

Yes, Rita. I started calling it Burita in my head, and eventually Burrito. Stream of conscious to keyboard, I suppose.

You aren't kidding about the heat. I have a ton of stuff I should be doing today, but I just cant bring myself to leave my air conditioned apartment again.

Yeah, I was starting to think that your family's burrito night went bad and the force of the ensuing flatulence knocked out your power.

...or something.

This is my first year at UT Austin. How cool does it usually get in the fall and winter?

Usually you start getting cold fronts by this time of the year. So it can go between low 90s one day to about low 70s or high 60s the next, just depends on the fronts.

For example, on Wednesday the high will be 102, but on Thursday it will be be 82.

EDIT: Here is a cool page with the averages: http://www.srh.noaa.gov/ewx/html/cli/ausnorm.htm

The lowest it'll go is in the 50s generally, usually around February. It did snow about two years back, but not heavily and that's unlikely to happen for quite some time. You're mostly looking at 80-100 degree weather, with highs of around 115 on occasion.

Huh, Austin has never had 115 degree weather...

and its usually low 90s to low 80s by this time of the year as well, this is just a very unusal circumstance because of the hurricane.

I could be mistaken, but it did hit 115 about 5 years ago during the fall IIRC, though it may have been marginally lower, at around 110.
