Great sense of atmosphere. It's very interesting visually. Kanye's acting is good. The interactions are funny and entertainingly awkward. Really, the whole thing is entertainingly awkward and weird, especially the ending. Still, it perfectly fit with the mood that had been set up over the preceding 10 or so minutes. I mean, the short depicted a regular setting and situation in such a way that the surrealist touch of a demon being pulled from Kanye's stomach (which commits seppuku at his wordless request) doesn't seem outrageously bizarre. I think that's worth something in itself.

Now can you explain what's so bad about it?

As I said, he is most likely an alcoholic. Explains the water retention in his face, his string of insane outbursts (they are getting more frequent), and general weird activity.

Which sucks because when he checks himself into rehab, we'll be hearing all about it. Then hear more of it when he gets out and claims to be sober. Then he'll put out a mediocre album but because his story is so touching, people will give it top scores before listening to a single track.

I loved it. The first 8 minutes or so are brilliant. I know what they were going for with the end, but I thought that it was just too out there.

Does anyone have that remix of See You In My Nightmares that was playing in the club? It was awesome.

i really love kanye... i think he makes really awesome music... and stuff like this is kind of creative... it's something other artists aren't really doing...

but this "ego" bit has got to be the most annoying part of kanye... lol

like how can you be SO aware of your ego that you have to make a movie directed by spike jonze about you killing your ego... it seems so contradictory... ehh... i hate to be talking about it because it's like i'm walking right into the trap
 
I really do believe Kanye is an artistic genius. His rapping has gotten increasingly better and I have always enjoyed his producing. What we have to understand is that being a balanced and stable person is not necessarily a requirement for fame, he obviously has some issues he needs to work out, sadly he has to do them in the spotlight.

This is more Spike Jonze crazy than Kanye crazy.

Also I liked the first half, as it's easy to relate to in the times that I've made a drunk fool of myself in public, which is pretty appropriate to what Kanye is known for these days.
