Was that depth of field stuff done post-production? I'm about 80% sure it is, except someone just mentioned a new camera had been used?

There were some similar shots in Rocknrolla (close ups of the guys face whilst running) which I'm sure was post-prod too. It'd be interesting if that was all done in real time.



The visual quality of the piece was stunning, except for the part where Kanye gets so close to the camera he has to back away from it a bit. I generally cringe when that happens (see also: the bit in Cape Fear where De Niro walks into the camera). The only time it's ever worked is in Indiana Jones because Ford doesn't flinch even though a camera practically knocks him in the face.

That's fine, but being part of the defense force should require defending the video by explaining it. Otherwise you're not providing much of a defense. Like, I respect Spike Jonze a lot and can appreciate some Kanye West music. But as far as I'm concerned that video was just pretty bullshit.

-them refusing his money. i think this is trying to say his money is no good, meaning his fame means nothing.
-i took the little demon to be either just that, the demon inside of him, or his ego. he came to a realization and decided to change.

Yea, I enjoy going to Kanye's blog every once in a while. He posts some videos of other good artists, along with interesting interior design and naked ladies. The comments section look like they came straight from myspace.
