Similar to the JAP version, firmware 1.52. You can update the 2.0 with and UMD offer in the Value pack, this UMD contain videos from different games too.

I think EU PSP owners have to register their PSPs and then Spiderman 2 will be sent to you. I thought they'd be bundling 2.0 with these as well, not 1.52 :/

yes, but afaik just for preordered PSPs, at least here in germany.
firmware 2.0 is on the demo umd.
 
Same here in Australia.

I think its the first 20,000 who register their psps get spiderman 2.

Fuck it was a long wait for the eu psps. Glad i picked mine up on import.

I hope it sells like shit in Europe. Fuck sony for delaying it so long and punishing importers like lik-sang.
 
We know what a PSP looks like - it's been out in the rest of the world for 10 months y'know... ;) (fuck Sony)

So I guess some retailer broke street then? Seeing as how it's not meant to come out for another week. Sony Europe will crush them with lawsuits, I expect.

As much as I want and want and want this will happen, we all know that it'll fly off the shelves along and take plenty of shity and film licensed games with it... Europe, your gaming habbits are rubbish :(

It's Sony's fault though. Why ship them out a week early? That's just asking for trouble

Actually I think what he means is that whenever a UK chart listing gets posted on here, there always seems to be crap like Madagascar or Fantastic Four at the top.

wow, and i've only had a psp for about 9months. It took sony longer to bring out a PAL psp than to conceive and birth a child.

I guess the crap thing about my jap psp is that jap UMD's are friggin expensive... Looks like I'll be watchin the PAL UMD's on my bro's PSP.... when he picks it up next week from highpoint. muahahahah.

UMD Movies released in the UK are region 2, no reason why they shouldn't play fine on Jap PSPs.
 
Hmm, I heard from Hyoushi that Argos broke street date in the UK, can anyone verify this? Also if it's true, are they selling the games as well?
 
Just to know if I will be able to watch Euro UMDs, is it Region 2? (already answered for UK, but for ALL europe?)

Is this actually definitely confirmed now? Has someone actually gotten a UK UMD movie and tried it on a Japanese PSP? I mean, I know everyone's assuming that it's going to follow DVD regions, but do we have any proof of that yet?

Yeah, someone should try playing Japanese UMD movies on that European PSP and so if they work. It makes sense for DVDs in Europe and Japan to have the same region, since they still differ in TV system (PAL vs NTSC), but of course that doesn't apply in the case of the PSP.

Well, some people have used their UK UMD Movie samplers in JAP PSPs, but of course the samplers could be region free (although the US ones weren't). I guess we'll not know for sure for a few days.

Honestly, it's nice to see someone who's excited about getting a PSP. We were there 6 and 9 mos ago, unfortunately now most of us are jaded and cynical :lol. Who knows, in the long run maybe Europe will be better off having had the long launch wait if they don't go through the long drought that JP and the US went/are going though.
 
Anyone confirm anyone breaking the UK street date? Wouldn't expect that of a chain like Argos.
