I wonder if the Japanese school does that too.
Still hoping for magic guns in the American school.
she actually was writing an encyclopedia, but then focused on pottermore? so not sure if she'll ever release that

"You can tricks and magic children, but none of this disproves Jesus. He did miracles"
It says wands are a European invention so Japan probably uses hand seals as well.
Basically what I'm saying is there's nothing that prevents Naruto from existing in Potterverse.

Still can't get over the lazy name for japan lol.
aussie wizards plz
Plot Twist: Jesus was the primordial wizard.
I think Moses was. Magic "came from Africa", and it's reasonable to assume the Egyptians had some idea of Magic. Along came Moses who transmuted water into blood, summons a rain of frog, death of first born, etc etc, then left. A lot of it was passed down by the muggles who were there at the time because there was no Statute of Secrecy back then.
Where are all the magic archaeologists in Potterverse??
You forgot to mention that Moses used his staff like a magic wand :O
Why is the Brazilian name for an ancient Wizarding school Portuguese when it's a relatively new language to the south American continent? You'd think she'd recognize that the indigenous people had a long history there before Spanish and Portuguese explorers arrived.
Doton: Leviosa no Jutsu!!!
Like in real life, I'm sure America has gone ahead and created a superior sport....Or two.i think i'd still rather go to hogwarts

as everybody realised magical society is too shit to sustain anything but self-centered beuracracy

It was mentioned earlier. It's called quodpot and the ball explodes.
maybe japan uses omamori? http://www.wikiwand.com/en/Omamori
There's likely a Spanish school she just didn't consider announcing one.I'm not a huge Harry Potter fan but I'm having way too much fun with some of the responses here.
So where do South American witches and wizards go? Or do we have to learn English or Portuguese to go to the elite American schools?
Bahaha the Japan one is literally 'Magic Place'
Not even really.
what are the houses in the american school?
The Elephant
The Donkey
The Eagle
The Gun
1) I'm miffed neither China nor India have magic schools of their own despite having two of the oldest mythologies in the world. No way all the wizards/muggleborns of these two countries combined will fit into the Mahouwhatever,
edit: wait the african schools use hand gestures? hahahahaha holy shit they're doing naruto ninja moves

Cherry
This very rare wand wood creates a wand of strange power, most highly prized by the wizarding students of the school of Mahoutokoro in Japan, where those who own cherry wands have special prestige.
yall complaining that the japanese name is so basic, but according to the Japan based around anime, it's only ONE out of many school for special children with superpowers. Those are there by the dozen, so no worries you have options
Potter schools should just be like, Rival Schools/Project Justice but with Magic.
I want to see the Japanese Wizard Delinquents
Bahaha the Japan one is literally 'Magic Place'
The number of countries that have their own magical school is minuscule compared to those that do not. This is because the wizarding populations of most countries choose the option of home schooling. Occasionally, too, the magical community in a given country is tiny or far-flung and correspondence courses have been found a more cost-effective means of educating the young.
Wait, is it really new? Cause I'm pretty sure the Mahoutokoro thing already made me laugh my ass off a few months ago.
