I wasn't aware that PS2 was capable of 1024x768.
Urgh... Jak 2, although not without it's share of problems, is way better and more interesting game than than the first one. Whether they will successfully fix Jak 2's problems in this sequel, I don't know, but if they do, they'll have a winner. Technically, even if they don't improve the single thing on the old engine, they will still have one of the best looking titles around. Character animtion in Jak 2 was perhaps the best 3D cartoon animation I've ever seen in a game.Jak and Daxter is really where it's at. You'd be best to just play that one and skip Jak 2
That way they ensure that magazines can get a nicely printed pictuires.I don't know why, but lately a lot of PS2 screens have been at that resolution. EA's been sending out pics are ridiculously high resolutions too.
And how's that any different looking than 99% screens released in the past three years? They've also seemed to apply X4-X6 AA. These screens are BS

Alot of screens released today run in resolutions not capable by the actual game, and the have fixed AA. This happens for games on all systems, not just the PS2.

That's what TV controls are for!Hello Naughty Dog, let me introduce you to your new friend contrast. USE IT
You are very wrong. And I may be wrong, but I don't think Nintendo has ever released bloated screens with unrealistic image quality and resolution.
So can PS2.PC can actually do the bloated images.
If you're going to complain about how accurately these images represent the game you might as well also complain about the fact that they're still images and they're being shown on a computer monitor through a web browser app which is not how the final game will be presented.teh_pwn said:I have seen Xbox do it as well, but...

I imagine you probably want to avoid ever looking at a game magazine as well.
The preference is to get captures taken of the actual detail level for a game.If you're going to complain about how accurately these images represent the game you might as well also complain about the fact that they're still images and they're being shown on a computer monitor through a web browser app which is not how the final game will be presented.

ND did spent 2 years between J&D and Jak 2, though.I seriously feel both Naughty Dog and Insomniac are driving their franchises into the ground by releasing a new game within a year
Didn't really hurt either company back in their Crash/Spyro days.Coen said:I seriously feel both Naughty Dog and Insomniac are driving their franchises into the ground by releasing a new game within a year. Why don't they release their games every 2 years. That way, both companies will get full attention and a new Jak/Rachet is actually something spells, not same-old, same-old.
The existence of uncontrollable variables (differences in monitors, settings, visional biologies) does not negate the significance of controllable action (whether the devs choose to capture an image from the game's actual level of detail). The weather can't be predicted with complete certainty, but that doesn't mean we shouldn't try to forecast it. Crime can never be completely wiped out, but that doesn't mean we should give up trying to prevent it.There's so many variables about how these pics might display on your computer vs. mine that there's really no point in expecting these pics to try to be as accurate as possible.
