Jake Paul vs. Anthony Joshua Set for December 19

This was the worst fight I ever watched in my life and I hope the entire human race goes extinct for it. Joshua should be embarrassed too because, assuming no contractual obligations, this shouldn't have lasted more than 20 seconds.

Told y'all. It would've been over in the first round if it wasn't for this buffoonery.

All the prior ones were just as bullshit.

Didn't watch, but by all accounts this was an awful "fight" that Joshua could have ended pretty much any time he wanted to but let it go 6 so Paul would keep some dignity. Basically the same story as Mayweather vs McGregor. A total of four punches landed in the first round is embarrassing.

It's obvious you didn't watch lol

Joshua couldn't finish it at any time because Jake was strafing and clinching for 4 rounds until he gassed out in the 5th.

edit: Jake also feigned a nut shot and attempted a double leg take down at one point. Joshua was completely unfazed the whole fight. Just biding his time.

Terrible fight. I know the announcers are supposed to make things exciting but listening to them made me see that they felt like they were talking to fair weather fans who don't know shit about boxing.

Joshua could finish Paul in a round if he wanted to. Yes credit for Paul doing it but it was ugly and Joshua made mad money so I'm happy for him on that front

I have to say, these Netflix presentations have sucked for me. The pacing sucks and it's full of filler. UFC has boxing lapped when it comes to this.

And you get these sanctioned fights like this which will probably generate more eyeballs than a proper good fight like from Crawford. In the same week he decides to hang up the gloves too.

Boxing is not in a good place with stuff like this unless it's about mainstream drama and hyperbole fights.

You can tell AJ was told to hold back in the first round.

Jake ran for the first four rounds. Then the slaughter started.

I honestly think Jake is lucky he wasn't killed.

If Jake Paul wants to fight people on AJs level again, then he needs his license and then work up the ranks.

Didnt watch the fight. So it seems like a legit fight Joshua pounded him into a KO?

I woulda had thought Paul and Joshua would prance around and Paul squeaks out a win like the Tyson fight where Mike did zero.

Enjoy your new Jaw jake

What a clown

Everyone in here hating on Jake. Dude took punches from a former heavyweight champ and broke his jaw for millions tonight. I know I wouldn't even think of doing that shit.

What did he make? Around 75 million was it?

I'd jump into the ring and fight AJ for 75 million and I'm not a boxer. I'd fight anyone for that kind of money.

You're telling me you really wouldn't take a broken jaw for 75 million?

Jake Paul just learned what it means to actually box. Even if Joshua is a few years off-prime, he has the belts to show you he doesn't fuck around.

Paul found out. Its some balls to throw yourself into a broken jaw situation - but i hope this humbles him and he stops doing these fantasy matches.

Next year Paul vs Usyk.

Doubtful, it's stupid to just go in and just try to end it quick without feeling out the other boxer first. No script here, just Jake Paul running around trying not to get hit, it was his game plan and it worked, kinda. AJ swung a huge right in the first round, a little wild but if that had connected it would have been lights out there and then.
You also have to bear in mind that AJ has been out 15 months and had surgery on his elbow, he will be ring rusty and he is trying to get back up to speed with smaller fights, pointless finishing it right away.

Play stupid games win stupid prizes. Influencer pretend boxers shouldn't get in the ring with actual professionals, especially good ones that have been world champions and are still young enough to break jaws.

Perception of reality vs Objective based reality.

Back in 09, I got my instructor tab for our MA program. Our program is on 17 different disciplines, so it is challenging.

Anyway, long story short, I was out at Camp Horno, which is in Camp Pendleton at SOI. We were implementing new instruction and training the instructors based out.

A gent from UFC came out to train while I was there. It has been a while so I can't remember his name, but he had a surfer looked and talked as much.

We had a chance to do ocean rolling and I got to have a chance myself. Mind you, I'd done two combat deployments and I'm a tabbed black belt instructor in the Marine Corps. I'm untouchable in my head that apparently was the size of a small orbiting moon.

I drove at him right at the start and shot in my arms to try and go down around his neck to press him into the water and into a guillotine.

Then objective reality hit, as soon as he seen my movement, he shot up towards me with an elbow, between my arms as I was lunging down. My face said hey to elbow. Instant black out and was dragged by some Marines out of the water.

My perception of myself being based ass, was not reality. Jake Paul found out, these men are different. They live these combat sports.

My first red flag should have been that he didn't just have some cauliflower ear, both his ears were just one cauliflower each!

The thing is, if he went the proper route he could be a decent fighter, but he's too arrogant/impatient/rich for that and he wouldn't be on the big stage with all the limelight on him.

The problem is you don't know what kind of injuries you might get from that bout. I wouldn't take it because I'd worry I'd get so pummeled that I'd come out with brain damage or a subdural hematoma or worse.

Jake Paul lost? What nonsense. He knew exactly what he was doing.

All that money and still no one really likes him or sees what value he brings to society. He's just another mouthy YouTuber who isn't really good at anything apart from making an idiot out of themselves. That seems to pay well these days though so what do I know.

I have to go to work 5 days a week but it's honest pay for honest work and I don't have to make a cunt out of myself in front of the whole world for it. Even if I did have the choice to do that I probably wouldn't do it as you would forever be walking down the street and people would say. "There's that twat that got knocked the fuck out". I'd rather be poor and unknown 100%

Our living of Paul's Twilight Zone episode finally ends. Dude made bank beating up old legends and thought he could take on one still near his prime.

I have no idea who the Paul guys are other than that they do social media but, and I'm probably in the minority here, but I respect Paul for trying something like this. It takes real guts to do and dedication. I sure wouldn't be willing to do it.

Its what he has done to the sport, made it a laughing stock trying to play it off as "real" boxing

Or it takes just being stupid with suicidal tendencies?
