The first movie was pretty ejoyable. The actors were from from enjoyable, though...

James Wan talks about Saw 2 in this interview.

"We're in the process of casting for SAW2 right now. Its definite that Shawnee Smith and Tobin Bell are both coming back. Why is Shawnee coming back? Well, without giving too much away...you find out that Shawnee's character did not learn to appreciate the second chance that she earned from the first film. And Tobin's character, Jigsaw, is a prominent figure in this one. In the first film, he was hardly seen but his presence was felt everywhere. And since his identity has been revealed, we're now bringing him to the fore-front of the story and exploring him in depth. People will get to see what makes this guy ticks. Sure SAW2 will have a lot of really cool set-pieces, but its first and foremost, a character-study movie above everything else. Generally sequels are all about cashing in on the success of the first film, but we're working damn hard to make sure it

Two actors coming back? I don't know which ones, but they'll suck..again.

More gore or no sale. For a production company called "twisted pictures" they sure didn't wanna show anything.

It's not like that movie wasn't messed up though. Fat man in barbed wire cage and lady with bomb strapped to her face seems fine by me. :D

The ideas were great, and then the movie would go hyper-disco-5000 on the scene and speed through all the good stuff.

lucky aussie kids made $$$ with SAW. :) So envious. However. SAW = major suckage

talk about shit. 2/10

Seriously. Does shit really need a sequel? Does concentrated fecal matter really need a sequel? I'm pretty sure that when people take a dump, they get a good idea of what shit is. They don't really need a second go through to get a grasp on it.

I dunno, I liked the first one too. So I guess I actually do need a second treatment of this fecal matter before I figure out how much it's sucked all along.

everyone was telling me it was freaky, so I rented the DVD. Meh... really lame.
OMG HE WAS IN TEH R00M TEH H0L3 TIM3!!1!!! ONE!

after they made 2 fast 2 furious, I realized that Hollywood truly has no shame. Ceaseless batman sequels? Forgiveable, as the first two were so sweet and once three bombed, they thought they'd give it a shot to resurrect it, and when it didnt go, they nixed it. Just fine. But c'mon.... this is like making another Tomb Raider game. Be lucky you cashed in at all on the shit, and run for the hills, invest in real estate, and live comfortably the rest of your life.

EDIT: Actually, I should have realized the end was nigh once they made like 5 different "Three Ninjas" movies and replaced the fat kid in every one of them, and highlighted those with trailers of "Land Before Time: We're Not Really Before Time Anymore, In Fact, We're In New York And We're Going To Help Rudy Giuliani Save People From The Twin Towers"

I thought that Saw was ok. Had some interesting ideas, and I didn't see the ending coming, which is rare for me. The intricate traps were kind of cool. Do we need a Saw 2? No, probably not.

Hmm, I thought the general consensus about Saw was that it was pretty good. GAF doesn't think so.. :lol

And yes, if this is considered shit, then it definitely needs a sequel. I thought it was pretty damn good. :) Not spectacular, but an 8/10 maybe 8.5/10.

At the time I liked Saw a whole lot, but looking back it wasn't a very good movie. Cary Elwes sucked for some reason, and the pacing was off. I don't understand why Danny Glover was there, nor do I think the photographer should be in any movie ever.

But it was an interesting concept. Maybe a sequel might not be so bad, if they keep the good and cast appropriately.

the thing with Saw was that their budget wasnt very high, and they were working under tight time constraints.. so many of the initial test scenes made it into the final cut.. they werent able to shoot some of the scenes multiple times like they usually do for movies.. so the poor acting is a bit excusable... the set up was pretty cool.. so im looking forward to see what they can do with the sequel

I'll agree that the acting did suck, but for me, acting isn't something that can completely pull me out of a movie and stop me from enjoying it. Things like horrible pacing can do that, but not acting..

I did enjoy the movie, but the acting was horrible. Everytime that doctor started crying I was like: Nooo0000.

First one was pretty crappy. Don't see how this could be much better.

I can't believe people compare this hunk of turd (or even think it's better than) Seven.
