The facepaint looks stupid and is rather creepy. Never got the point of facepaint anyways, it wears off after they are in the ring for 13 seconds anyway.

In what way? And are you just talking indy or WWE? or both?

If you watch a match from the 80's or 90's it seems that the wrestlers were actually trying to win the match. Watch a match like DDP vs Savage or Bret vs SCSA or Mankind vs Taker. Maybe the style has changed but it just looks like every spot is predictable.

I'd give Jericho and Orton both about equal shot at winning and everyone else is streets behind them

Outside of those two the only real contenders would be any of the losers in the SD cage match, Sheamus, Undertaker

This has absolutely nothing to do with your first comment

I have zero problems with joke characters as long as they're actually funny. Santino, thumbs up. Hornswaggle? GTFO.

does anyone not think Y2J is winning the RR?
Seems pretty obvious no?

I don't think Jericho would want to win, and seems like the kind of guy that would tell management he does not need it. He can get into any feud he wants - and is a big enough name to make that feud interesting regardless of how he got there. There are quite a few guys that could benefit from winning the Rumble to finally push them right to the top - Ziggler and Barrett would be the main two I am thinking of.

This is when they swerve us!

Watch the Rumble end in a very competitive way, giving someone who worked hard the win and helps elevate them to superstar status.

Oh. I thought it was to set up Jericho CM at WM.

Other guys should get a push...

but I like Jericho so much more than everyone on the current roster =(

Punk vs. Y2J would be awesome at Mania. Throw Ziggler vs. Mankind and Taker vs. someone who isn't HHH in there and we have a pretty good show.

Oh. I thought it was to set up Jericho CM at WM.

I am not saying it won't happen, but I think they could do that loads of other ways if they needed to. He already has the whole "end of the world" thing going on, which also has loads of different outcomes. There is loads of ways to get to Punk/Jericho without the Rumble

After reading Jericho's books, looking at his DVD, and thinking back to the stuff he had to put up with in WCW, he does not seem like the kind of guy that would comeback and need/ask for a Rumble win to push his own storyline (when he knows that could significantly help others on the way up).

These days it's not just tough ass blue collar people trying to make a living. It really is more like becoming an actor.

This. Today there are no equivalents of Stan Hasen, Bruiser Brody, Terry Gordy, Steve Williams, etc. No more tough-ass, big burly dudes who could actually work. If a dude's big in today's world of wrestling, he's either freakishly fat or tall, or freakishly over-muscled, and almost certainly is awful in the ring.

I would love for Jericho to win the rumble because I am a huge Jericho fan, but that being said I don't think he should win the rumble when there are others that should get the win because like others have said here that Jericho doesn't need a Rumble win to be in the main event compared to others.

I can almost guarantee you none of those guys except for maybe Dr. Death would be cosmetically pleasing to Vince and crew.

I'm a huge fan of Husky Harris as I think he can definitely hold his own.

He's the IC Champ in my WWE 12 Universe Mode!

Traditionally I'd say Jericho should win because they need an established name in the WWE title match (Punk draws a certain crowd but even as a Punk mark I'll admit he's not today's Austin yet).
Though I imagine in the minds of WWE that Rock/Cena + the Wrestlemania name has enough star power to draw all of the buys alone, giving them an opportunity to put some newer faces in the "other" main events to establish new stars

Why are people spoilering the fact that Wade Barret said Papa Shango was going to be in the Rumble? He could be full of shit.
Wade Barrett has never lied to us before.

All of those guys were juiceheads or other sorts of junkie.

That said, they missed a giant opportunity with Luke Gallows.

I don't know, I figured people would actually want to be surprised at what sort of entrant could possibly come in even if it is just a rumor.

Kind of like how some people avoid Smackdown spoilers.

Stan Hansen?!

Also, the closest we come to this kind of wrestler today is the current NWA World Heavyweight Champion Adam Pearce.

Yeah, that's half the trouble, but it goes beyond that. There just aren't that many good big men in US wrestling any more, even in the indies, beyond a token few like Brodie Lee.

Yeah, he's improved a whole lot, I'm really enjoying his feud with Richy Steamboat in FCW.

Even if they were, they still had more wrestling ability in one finger than Mason goddamn Ryan.

With all this talk about CM Punk being a pretty boy, I have to ask:

what was going on with his puffy eyes on the last RAW?

It was like that episode of ATHF where they eat raw chicken and burn stryofoam.
The best (worst?) thing about the Funkasaurus is that it's teaching us who the WWE believes to be worthless jobber.
  1. Curt Hawkins
  2. Tyson Kidd
  3. JTG
  4. Heath Slater
  5. Alex Riley
I agree with two of those for sure, still unsure about Heath Slater
Heath Slater jobbed to Justin Gabriel and Hornswoggle.

The Funkasaurus was a step up.

I remember the person I was sitting next to at WM24 said the same thing about John Morrison.

Hah, guess that person was not so impressed by the prince of parkour's tricks. That was a pretty good MITB ladder match as well and probably the best WM event since 20.
How many WM events have you been to anyway?
