Didn't Bomberman Panic on the PSP come out yesterday also? Not making the list at all on the first day would be a little sad.

Only 5 DS games? That's a recent low for sure.

Mushiking sold 150k btw. Haven't got figures for the rest yet, though.

Sold 150K on the 1st day? That's really good. Is this new a new franchise? I wonder if DS will see a hardware spike as a result of this game.

It's existed as an arcade card game prior to this that uses the Triforce hardware. It's new other than that though.

With only 2 new games released it´s really good. On Saturday there will be 10+ DS games again.

Don't get me wrong - I wasn't knocking the DS - just pointing out the obvious facts. I'm sure it has more to do with 8 or 9 new PS2 releases than anything else. I doubt we've seen the last of the dogs.

Goemon tanked. It sold less that a Pachislot game and other than Fist of the North Star, Pachislot games don't sell much.

I wouldn't put Zill O'll Infinite over 50k first day max, I'd actually say it's more likely to be around 35k. So if I had to guess Chibi Robo probably did about 15-30k which is ok I guess; deserves more sales.

Any news on an English language version of Chibi Robo yet?

Im amazed Coded Arms made the top ten considering its a FPS being sold in Japan plus its a pretty dodgy game.

Jonnyram what was the Media Crate hardware sales for the week? I missed your post can't find

It's in the MC thread for the week. Towards the end of it. Johnny didn't post it this time -- someone else did.

It's a major release day so the # of DS titles tends to be lower. GIve it a day or two.

I hate that Japan hates Famicom Wars... did they always hate it or was it the delay of the GBA versions that did the franchise in?

Holy shit, Drag on Dragoon is already being outsold by Brain Training. Looks like DS and GBA are really going to clean up this week. However looks like Famicom Wars and Goemon did fairly average, but probably enough to keep the DS hardware pretty steady. PSP software is continuing its bad run. The new release last week of Smart Bomb came in around 40. This week Coded arms will only be in the top 20, with Bomberman Panic below that. Oh, and you know the Japanese gaming market has been in a slump when in the entire country the first massively successful game in ages is being published by Sega :p

Wow Geomon has done worse than I would have thought it would have. I thought it would have atleast been in front of Famicon Wars. Hopefully both of those will sell over 100K.

Wow the DS is ruling the charts.

With Shiba and friends back up into the top 10 it must still be selling well. Also Brian Training still is doing phenomenal.

I can't believe Nintendogs's success. Probably another 10-15k this week.

Brain Training is doing really well too. Talk about things that come out of nowhere.

And look at Pokemon Emerald too. Signifying big GBA or DS sales?

Anyway, it's really weird seeing 10 DS games in the top 20. Weird because that's about 25% or so of the system's releases (I think).

To clarify with that new stickied thread, I'm being sarcastic. :P Really, we get it guys.

And it's not funny.

here's a reality test..

Goemon Vs. Coded Arms

now Konami will know which console sells more software for them :)

Indeed...

Established franchise vs. New title in a genre that isn't popular in this particular market

Sounds like a fair comparison to me!

Actually that's not a fair comparison :P DS titles cost less to make (I don't know how much both titles cost's were, but I'm sure Geomon's development cost was less than a querter-half of Coded arms) so in order to make a profit you need to sell less copies of the game (not a querter-half of the amount though - as PSP titles cost more)
I would say even if Geomon sold less it would have still been the more profitable game :P

About the sales chart - was is ever like that with the GBA? Nintendo is making a killing off of the DS :)

EDIT: Guys, the game wasn't made for the japanese market. I'm sure Almokla ment WW sales for both (if not - the comparison is wrong and shouldn't have been made at all)

no anihawk, see, 6ds games to 2 psp games or something similar, has become the norm. but 10 DS games to 1 psp game is beyond bad for psp, and needs to be said again :)

I recall a time when it was like that for the GBA. 8-10 titles and sometimes more in the top 20 wasn't a rarity. Though that was really until mid-2002.

Quite amazing that the 7 months old DS is already half way to selling as many units as the SP.

Nintendo DS: 2,495,909
Game Boy Advance SP: 5,351,391
