So after talking to a few on the GAFers who reside in Japan I started thinking. We should start up a Tokyo page with contact info, a schedule for events (Akiba runs, game center nights) and such. We should also see if we can schedule a monthly nomikai.

Are any of the Tokyo GAFers up for this? If so lets work out what we're gonna do in this thread then set it up. I can probably spare some space since I run a web server out of my house.

I'm back in the UK now, but I'll be returning to Japan for the whole month of May (although I'll be in hiding during Golden Week :lol ) and I'll return to live there from September. Please add me to the list for future occassions

i've lived in osaka for the last 2 years minus a few months here and there. my teaching job ended, so im in the states now, but i'll head back there this summer. gonna take one of those intense 1 1/2 yr japanese courses, try to pass 1kyu then get into a jpn uni in a mba program.

im not 1kyu material yet hehe. i could probably get a respectable score on the 2kyu..hopefully with some psychotic intensive japanese language course thats 5 days a week, and 4 hours a day for 18 months or so i'll get there

OK. regarding a potential nomikai. Any particular day of the week better for you guys?

For me Tuesdays and Fridays are pretty bad. Any other day is OK. But I can be flexible on Tue and Fri if the majority of people are free those days... (altho Friday seems like a bad day for us to do it)

Anyways that one is sorta big so I was thinking about a slightly smaller one with various smaller events. ddk -- I heard about that; when were you there? I've only missed maybe four or five ever. Was it when I was in America?

In any case, this sounds like something you could take care of with a thread on the Tokyopia forums. All of us are there, so there's no need for yet another page just to talk about the same kind of stuff. It just seems extraneous, is all. It's enough work already keeping up with GAF and Tokyopia every day, we don't need yet another outlet to waste our time.

jtv - i think i was there while you were in America. Hopefully we can meet up next time I get a chane to show up. Anyways, I was just wondering about the overlap between GAF and Tokyopia and wondering exactly how I'd go about synchronizing events/threads between the two pages...
