Get a Japan Rail Pass for 28,300 Yen and go to Hiroshima, Kyoto, Nara and Nagoya (for the Aichi Expo 2005).

You'll probably need to hit up Kamakura some time. It's a great, relaxing place. On the way you can also visit Ofuna too. For more entertaining places, maybe the usual crap like Shibuya and Kabuki-cho and Roppongi Hills

Nope! I have no idea what that is, haha. I went there during the summer a lot... I just checke out the temples, Daibutsu and the beach, that was about it. The beach there rocks!

Go here! Some fan made a 1/4 Hyper Zeta Gundam. i can't find the site anymore... :(

And even i am moderately surprised
5 years in and i STILL haven't been to Kamakura.... :/

I have a friend of a friend in town this weekend, i said i'd show them "the sights"...

i too can't think of anything, they are off to Kyoto during the week so NO POINT in showing them temples...

Imperial Palace?
Ghibli museum?
Yoyogi park for the freaky people?
err... really at a loss...

Ghibli you won't get in unless you book in advance, prolly too late.

yoyogi could be fun, I'd like to visit there sometimes.

That busy market with the really long, narrow alley is nice too.

Oh, and shibuya (big crossing, loads of people - very 'outsider view of Japan'), spot of shopping in Ginza.

you can fill a day or so really easily. And see things yourself you probably haven't done. I lived in Brighton for 5 years and never went to the pavilion. Been in Windsor for 3 years so far and not been in the Castle.

That's a lot of money. :(

that's under 300 dollars... to be able to travel across the whole country... I spend that much a month for traveling to work by train... and that's all local..

Kamakura- Dude, you're missing out.
Imperial Palace- Good stuff.
Ghibli Museum- OVERRATED! A good majority of the "stuff" shown in there is Pixar related.
Yoyogi Park- That place is awesome on Sundays.
