Japan Travel GAF Meetup IV-VI: The Original Trilogy, September + October

Wow, I might actually be able to make the Osaka one! We are currently on. World trip and will be in Japan in October, so I'll keep my eyes peeled, would be great to meet some gaffers!
 
I'll be in Japan during the time of the Tokyo meetup, but I'm not sure yet if I have time on that day. Guess you can put me in as a maybe!
 
I had a great time at Meetup III. So jealous of everybody going to these ones haha.

I still think about Tokyo all the time, it's an incredible city. I'm definitely going back. Maybe I'll even make an appearance for Meetup VIII or IX or something...
 
Put me on the maybe for the September 17 meetup. Will be in the city for Ultra music festival on the 19th. Might be able to swing by this too.

We'll see how many people show up. Might eat somewhere else if we're a lot of people.
 
Due to some plans changing, it's getting more likely that I'll show up for this on the 17th. Looking forward to meeting some of you in person!
 
You can change me to "attending" for October 1st. I should be able to go.

For dinner, are we randomly gonna go somewhere, or should we maybe book an izakaya or something in advance? I don't go out in Shinjuku that much, so I don't know a lot of places, but I'm willing to look something up.
 
I'm pretty much in for the 17th, but I might be a bit late as I arrive in Tokyo the same day. I'll post again when I know more.
In case I'm late, I might have to pm/call (via skype) or something to be able to find you.

Hmm... we've just learned yesterday night that there is an event for indie devs that will be held on the 17th after TGS, so we might have to drop out of the first meetup if we manage to get the event tickets.
 
I arrive in Tokyo at around 5 so I should have more than enough time to get to the hostel, leave my stuff there and get to the meeting place. In short, count me in.

In the city or at the airport? If it's Narita then you're probably not gonna be there at 18:15 at least :p

Necropost time from the Kyoto Shinkansen! It's leaving at 12:05 am that night from Haneda. Unless we end up accumulating luggage we'd have to check in the next week or two, it'd probably be quick to get through?

If so, put us down on the maybe list for oct 1, we didn't see much of Shinjuku this week.

Well, it would be about 45mins to 1 hour by train from Shinjuku to Haneda. Guess if you leave at like 21:30 and store your luggage at Shinjuku it'll work out fine.

We went to Super Potato, Mandarake and had something to eat. Afterwards some people went to an arcade as well. Good stuff.
 
Great night guys :) Had so much fun meeting you all! Sorry I had to leave early but I had to attend a jam session at a jazz bar in Shinjuku. Hope you all had a good time :)
 
Someone posted this thread from the Toronto community thread. I'd be down to join the meetup on the 1st of October. I was actually in Akiba on the 17th but left before you guys met up (also didn't about this thread lol).
 
Sorry I couldn't make it this time! I ended up in Nikko and Utsunomiya that night so I was a bit far ;)

I'll definitely be back to Japan though... and if I'm in town for another one of these, I'll definitely try harder to make it!!
 
Welp, I was literally in Akiba at exactly that time on Saturday and had no idea this was a thing.

Now I'm back in Osaka, but will be leaving on October 5th so I can't make the Namba meetup. Hope y'all had + will have fun, though!
