Forgive me J-music GAF, but I thought Perfume peaked creatively with FLASH, but I'm really glad I was proven wrong. Every Day is amazing.

Thank you so much for starting this discussion. I made a playlist a long time ago.
I prefer the mashups of rap and J-pop/anime OPs, though I'm not really familiar with most of these shows.[/url]

The thing about these mash-ups is that you see the title of the track and the two artists that are mashed and you say to yourself "there's no way this will work." Then you listen to it, and it's like holy shit, it works seamlessly. I wonder if non-Japanese music listeners would feel the same.

I found this one today, and just started laughing like a madman. It's seamless and beautiful imo

In terms of having super different songs that strangely work together, there's only one that is as crazy. Getting a bit OT, but I must share Thomas the Tank Engine and Biggie Smalls.

I heard Burnout Syndromes for the first time the other day and decided to come here to say they're incredible. I immediately knew they were great when I heard ヒカリアレ in a Japanese song compilation on Youtube. I immediately bought their album on JP iTunes and it is perfection.

so inexplicably 2017 has given us another "girls in a canal" video, except this one comes with a weird meta thing where it has a member of Kindan no Tasuketsu who wasn't in their own canal video earlier this year

we've still got 4 months, hopefully we can get at least one more

e: oh my favorite member of Hauptharmonie (ironically the one that made their manager to break up the group) is in it too

You should try Acidman, the vocalists have similar voices/way of singing

Who are all these other people whose groups aren't listed?

We've been blessed to receive so many Oomori videos recently. I'm happy.

A lot of them are former participants from the Miss iD audition (all of them actually from the look of it)

almost entirely missID entrants (including some 2018 contenders) and a few of Oomori's personal friends. but even then a lot of missID girls are already relatively well known in underground music/art/photography circles.

Well, that was unexpected, SKY-HI is doing a show in Paris on November 18th.
Only this show has been announced but maybe other Europe shows are scheduled?
Anyways I'm excited!

Pretty cool. Kinda disappointed her new album is a weird mix of new materials and old stuff, but hey.

No details yet, but My Hair is Bad will release their 2nd major album on November 22th. Really excited for this.

In other news, Daoko and Yonezu Kenshi are pretty much guaranteed to have the most viewed song on Youtube this year as far as Japanese music is concerned.
Already sitting at almost 23 millions and still going strong!

I think the leader so far is Wanima with 31 millions

TWICE's Japanese debut reaching 30 millions soon
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=t35H2BVq490
Keyakiza46 at almost 27 millions
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gfzuzDrVRVM
And then maybe Yonezu Kenshi with Orion and Peace Sign, both broke the 23 millions bar

Cider Girl is real good.

So I finally got around to listening to the album (mini-album?) that The Floor released in June, it's great. What other bands have a similar sound to them?

Though definitely double check venues and stuff. The Prague show for example is in a different venue. Who knows when the list was last updated.
