I'm moving to Japan in 6 days and to reward my bravery, I've decided to pick up a PSP the moment I land (no way I'm paying those European prices!) Anyway, I'm a keen old school gamer and would like to find a PSP with the 1.5 firmware so I can play Area88 on the move.

Now then, the one word that my Japanese teacher seems to have failed to teach me is "firmware" and I'll certainly need to use it when I'm talking to someone in a game store... anyone from the GAF-Japanese speaking community know the Japanese word for "firmware"?

If you happen to go to Akihabara, just head over to Traders. They have used PSP's with firmware version labeled on the box. Which part of Japan will you be at?

I'll be living in Osaka, but I'll spend my first few days in Tokyo, so I'll have plenty of time to visit Akihabara... I'd rather quietly find a 1.5 label than say Farm Wear to a shop assistant

Oh, and of course I'll be visiting TGS too!
