One of the best FPS games ever. I remember grabbing it on a whim when it first launched and was hooked. Recently played through on the steam deck and it still holds up well

These games always interested me, but I didn't play them at the time they released. Seems fit for some kind or remaster or remake IMO.

I was playing Doom3 right now which has the same "vibe" as FEAR. Might as well do a new run on Extraction.

Imho still is one of the most impressive AI display on a video game.

Anyone itching for FEAR should give Trepang2 a shot. Not as good as the goat, but a very capable game.

First Fear is one of my top games ever for me and pretty much one of the goats of first person shooters, the sequels were a let down in my opinion and didn't match the original.

He states in the video that the FEAR-Games run @ 4K/60 on Series X through backwards compatability, which is not correct. They only run @720p/60.

I love that franchise.

Project Origin was my PS3 Launch game along with Dead space.

I loved the Bullet time effect and the movie sound effects.

FEAR 1 was one of my best games... and one of the last I enjoyed... until one of the worst times of my life began.

The game didn't really scare me... but I loved that implementation of Japanese Horror mixed with US Action.

I'm afraid of playing this game again I'm because no other FPS this gen comes close to the sheer awesomeness of the gameplay. It was incredible then, it's incredible now! And no, don't suggest Trepang 2, it's a nice callback but no one has dethroned the GOAT!
