Jay Mohr: pillow biter?

First that one really unfunny broad from last year's Last Comic Standing claimed that Jay Mohr is gay on the Howard Stern show, now this?

from defamer.com:

Jay Mohr was brutally (some say deservedly) roasted as part of the premise for the show last night. Those in attendance at the taping got treated to three competing comics blasting Mohr, with Triumph The Insult Comic Dog marking the same territory. But toastmaster Jeffrey Ross got in the best barb.

Referring to Mohr's role as a ruthless sports agent in Jerry Maguire, Ross said he "got himself a part by using his talent, his good looks and his willingness to bang Tom Cruise." The crowd gasped, Mohr did a huge spit take, and our handy Tivo evidences that NBC actually aired the Cruise buggery comment on primetime. Granted, no nipples were displayed on the telecast, but we're betting that the humorless, heterosexual Tom Cruise won't be giving any "exclusive" interviews to NBC in the near future.

edit: not that there's anything wrong with that - it's just that Jay has never really struck me as gay, his role in "go" withstanding

Jefferey Ross, while funny occasionally, is a complete asshole. When roasting someone, it's of course acceptable to insult the subject of the roast, but to referrence outside people and insult them as well is completely inappropriate. Ross constantly does this.

I think he's hilarious myself and that roast about Tom Cruise was great! How could you be offended by that? "I'm not gay, im heterosexual you offensive asshole!"

I fail to see what the big deal is. If Tom Cruise was offended by that he deserves a massive beatdown.

Well come on now, man, Mr. Cruise is notorious for not fucking around when it comes to homosexual allegations directed towards him.

The big deal, to ME at least, is: Jay Mohr - friend of Barbara? Really!?

Supersonic, idiotic, disconnecting, not respecting, who would really ever wanna go and top that
Pillow biter? I've never heard that term before.

I wouldn't expect Mohr to be so shocked, they had him saying some pretty crazy things on Action! Now I'm sorry I missed this, I love it when the reactions are funnier than what happen.

Go rent "Things to Do in Denver When You're Dead" NOW. There are so many euphamisms for homosexuality in that movie, it's amazing. "Pillow biter" is tame compared to the other shit that "The Man With The Plan" (Christopher Walken, in another brilliant performance) says.

Which is exactly why Ross pushed that particular button, I'm sure. I'd have to agree with SKluck, I don't see what the big deal is...

I hate Jay Mohr.

I dunno why, but he's just one of those actors I really can't stand. Others in the list of actors I can't stand include Alan Alda and Christopher Mcdonald.

I know this offers nothing to the thread, but I had to get this off my chest.

Friend of Dorothy

the best part of that roast was where Triumph asked that annoying unfunny fatass Ralphie May "Were you inspired by thinner comics...like Louis Anderson?"

He was gay in "Action" too.

...no you didn't
He was a homosexual...I didn't mean to use "gay" in the connotation that internet dorks use it. I meant he was actually a man who liked to sleep with other men in that show.
Didn't he get oral sex from that action movie star who later anounced they were lovers on tv?

PS: He was also gay in the lamer way, though. :p

It's funny. I worked on a show that Ross was a writer on. He was the only guy who was nice to me.

Rorschach, I forgot all about that plot thread. He wasn't really gay, though... didn't he just do whatever to get the guy to be in his movie or whatever? Actually wait, if I remember right, didn't Peter lie to the dude about being gay for whatever reason, but then it backfired when the guy came out and said it was all due to Peter Dragon? Maybe I'm confusing this with something else.

Socreges: that doesn't mean shit. She could be his 'beard'

Hmm, interesting. I suppose there are different facets to people, but still.

Also, you worked on The Man Show? May I ask what that involved?

I was a writer's assistant there when I was in college (1st season, I think). The job was short-lived and not very fun.

Last Comic Standing is cancelled!!! This is shocking news to me too. I woke up on Wednesday morning and recieved the news. NBC was not happy with the rating of the show and decided to pull the plug. Keep in mind there is only one episode left and on that episode we were going to ANNOUNCE THE WINNER! Amazing. Why would a network cancel a show with only one episode left?

There is some back history that makes this more ridiculous. As Last Comic Standing 2 was wrapping up this summer, the network told us that they wanted a "hybrid version" of Last Comic to put on the fall schedule. They said that they simply didn't have enough shows for the fall slate and needed a quick fix. My partner Peter Engel as well as other producers like Barry Katz, Cori Fry, K.P. Anderson and my self thought that this was a bad idea. We argued that having a seperate version of Last Comic so soon after season 2 concluded would burn the audience out and damage the franchise. Well the network insisted we move forward and we came up with "LCS Battle of thge Best". Season 1 versus season 2 for a prize of 250 thosand bucks. (It seems like Fox hands out a million dollar prizes on its reality shows like its lunch). Last Comic Standing The Battle Of The Best hit the airwaves in the fall and guess what? The ratings were down. The ratings stayed pretty consistent all season with around eight million viewers but that didn't stop NBC from hitting the panic button.

The biggest question I have is why would you wait until the final episode to pull the plug. I feel terrible for the comics. We had a great final four with Alonzo Bodden, Rich Vos, Dave Mordal (my favorite) and John Heffron. These four comics are not involved with network bussines or standards and practices but it is they who will suffer the most from this terrible decision by The Nation Broadcasting Company. I have to stop typing now because I have to go TiVo Father Of The Pride.

I don't like the show (I stopped watching once Season 2 was so obviously rigged) but that is just awful. One episode to go and they pull the plug? Ugh.

No longer boycotting the Wolfenstein franchise
So there's one episode left and NBC isn't going to produce/air it? That's pretty retarded.

First tragedy, then farce.

not only that, the four comics left also happen to be the ones that are actually funny. Alonzo Boden is good when he is doing his making fun of the South thing, and Heffron is funny when he isnt repeating the same material over and over again... but at least Vos and Mordal are an absolute riot.

Hopefully the thing will still be shown on Comedy Central (I've actually noticed Comedy Central uses the last comic standing people alot on their own lineup now, sorta wierd).
