What would you guys say is Nujabes' best album?

I'd have to say his 2nd Hydeout Collections anthology is probably my personal favorite overall.

Between Metaphorical Music and Modal Soul my personal favorite is modal soul but I can see why Metaphorical Music is usually said by most fans to be their favorite.

Honestly, I can't choose. Metaphorical Music has Blessing It whereas Modal Soul has Horizon.

I have to go with Modal Soul myself. Horizon, Light on the Land, and World's End Rhapsody are fabulous.

I was getting a big post ready but over the last two days you guys have already posted everything.

Also, Tokimonsta is kinda hot.

On the subject, I can't figure out how to search artists in the new Pandora (I haven't used it in a long time).

Gonna go with Metaphorical Music myself. Too much love for Lady Brown and Highs 2 Lows.

If anybody here likes Marcus D or Cise Star, check this song out, called "Greater Purpose"

Cise Star is definitely grouped among my favorite hip hop lyricists. So good. He has so many lines that are just so... well, fucking amazing, I guess. Raw and clever and good.

Tokimonsta is super hot. Plus she's a dj? shiiieet. I'm already a sucker for girls that are musicians.

@Eravulgaris, Yep, I heard that one. It's become on of my fav from her too.

I've known about Blazo for a while now, but Colors of Jazz is on another level. He was always good but damn, he stepped his game up with that one.

This isn't instrumental, but I guess you could call it "Jazz-Hop" even though I hate that term.

ive made peace with it - do you got a better name, though? i think it kinda incorporates the sound, jazz rap and other stuff ive seen not so much.

I just don't like it cause Hip-Hop was born from jazz in the first place, and a large number of hip-hop songs use jazz compositions as a basis. Shits just kinda redundant.
I'm not a fan of most genre labelings in the first place, though. Jazz-Hop is good enough for this thread, don't let my bitching get to you.

Lovin the thread, though. Big ups on making it. I've spent a large portion of my life zoning out to instrumentals in the dark of the night.

@ pinko - haha, yeah - its funny cause i used to just call the playlist vibe cause that's what id do when listening to it, but it made me think too much of the magazine.

absolutely right on hip-hop being born of jazz, too. i like to think it came from that and some blues as well, all very american art forms and at times shit feels oddly cumulative for me...anyway.

that brown album is the only mix i never heard (kno did the white one, right?), gonna check that one out too.

yeah, kno did the white album. everyone knows about the grey album. theres also a 9th wonder remix album. those are the only notable ones I can think of off the top.

so anyone here know of Knxwledge? dude is friggen crazy. seems like he drops a new instrumental tape like every week. seriously.

Bonobo - Noctuary

This is one of my favourite Bonobo tracks. I especially love the build up from around 3:25 onwards and the subtle little flurries on the bass at 3:41 and 4:00.
