I hate the "supposedly" popular "retro" basketball shoes that are out in stores now...

I hate them... If I wanted to wear gyms shoes I wore back in 8th. grade in 1984... I would build a time machine or read my old Chandlers and do a Butterfly Effect.

I seriously cannot find a cool, new, non-retro basketball shoe... anywhere...

The new Shox are OK and I will probably buy those... but it is really slim-pickens in the world of basketball shoes for me...

I was a major Jordan fan for 10 years or so... but his last 5 years have been weak!

I like the Shox now, because they are NOT "retro"

I don't know what type of shoes they're considered... but I found some blue Reebok Classics that I absolutely love. My first non-Converse All-Stars shoes in quite some time.

I currently wear these for hoops...

I am looking for an all-black, hoops, Shox shoe... not much out there...

Jordans are also so cheaply made, the Shox feel soild...

I have been buying Shox since the Vince Carter V1, but stopped buying those when I broke my ankle in the awkward zipper Vince Carter Shox...

The problem I have with retro shoes is that the price they are now are higher than the same shoes I had 20 years ago. I had some black Nike's with the silver swoosh back in the early/mid 80's. The prices for the same pair for the same material are crazy. At least give me a second pair free so when they go out and come back in style again, I'll be all set.

I'm hoping that those aren't the only color choice for the VCIII's because that's FAR too much silver. I still have my pair of white/grey/silver VCII's in the box, only wore it a few times. Love 'em.

At one point I didn't buy a new pair of sneakers for 5 years simply because all the designs were horrible. However, things seem to be getting better and a few of my current faves are in the Reebok RBK line.

I haven't owned a pair of basketball sneakers in awhile, though. I alternate between my Nike Terra-Somethings and DCs, and I have a pair of those classic Reebok "casual" shoes for general tooling around.

I can't stand people who give a shit about sneakers first and foremost (get a life) but I just want to say that I like these retro styles because they're cheap and I don't feel like spending $200 on a pair of Jordans anymore.
