Yeah you are right most consumers are very ill informed, never go on the internet or read any newspapers or whatever. Word of mouth will spread that PS4 gamers will be playing full HD while Xbone players will be stuck on 720p.

Wonder what the issue is when a game as stunning as NBA 2k14 can be 1080p but something like Ghosts struggles.

But is it as stunning on Xbox One? After all we've only seen PS4 footage, it's possible that lighting, shadows, textures could be different. Just because it's 1080p doesn't equal graphical parity.

situation is different, during the ps1 sony couldnt afford to not be on the edge. during the ps2 we had the rise of the xbox so sony couldnt have the easy game, and they did get cocky.. just look back at that gigantic ps3 release fuck up..

Isn't it possible then, that many of the 720p games were actually supposed to be 360 games?

Sony would have told the third parties already that they were doing something new with a big fat NDA on them, so the third party multi-plats we're seeing for XB1 could be rushed PS4 ports that have to deal with the new ESRAM architecture, unfinished API/drivers and what not?

(could also explain why only three games could be displayed at the initial reveal i.e. the TVTVTV show)

If that's the case, then hopefully that situation can iron itself out as time goes on. Cboat did say after all that things will get better over time.

Things do seem to be bad for Xbox fans. I'm probably going to delay getting one at launch for different reasons (i.e. finals and work) and all of this junk isn't helping.

Depends. If Xbone has problems are devs more likely to forego going for parity and use the PS4 to the fullest extent as lead platform?

Depends on how your team is set up I guess.

I mean if you are a studio with a team for each platform and you see that your PS4 version is working fine and they're mainly just optimising to get the game looking even better but if it shipped as-is that it'd be fine and then look at your Xbox One team and see they're struggling and are nowhere near your PS4 team you might pull some of your PS4 staff out and say you, help out on Xbox One which you could argue would be detrimental to the PS4 version.

It's rumoured to be 1080p on PS4 according to certain Gaf insiders. It will almost certainly look better too in terms of AA, texture detail, lighting ect.

We'll know in the next few days. It's going to get crazy around here...
