The embargo thing - a disservice to consumers. They should be able to be informed before making their purchase decisions.

I believe Ghosts on X1 could easily get to be running in 1080p if given a little more time than a day-2 patch. Maybe about 5 days to a week and that would be real nice.

i don't think you were meant to take it so seriously/literally lol. Bungie created Halo, Bungie are now creating Destiny. Both are sci fi fps games. Hence the "halo is multiplatform".

MS aren't stupid. besides a lot of people only have 720p tvs anyway so they won't miss 1080p. it's just a luxury, not necessary for good gameplay. and do you honestly REALLY trust a Dualshock to be good with FPS shooters? yeah no thanks

I was going to pick up my Xbox One pre-order but now I might just cancel it. Only reason I wanted it in the first place was to play Titanfall. But now.. I'll just enjoy it on my PC at 1080p!

Man... so uh... been reading around on Twitter and various places this evening about this whole thing and just drinking it all in and I almost feel like I now need a cigarette.

Is "Reaction porn" an actual phrase? Because I think it is the only one that can sum up my evening's entertainment.

This is causing a fuckstorm of salt and meltdowns like I've never seen over anything game related both on game sites and pretty much everywhere else I look and it's over something that sounds so insignificant on the face of it... amazing times.

If it turns out to really be 720p on XboxOne vs 1080p on PS4, and MS is really forcing the embargo on reviews to try to mislead consumers as long as possible, that's just a dirty tactic.

Some.of his points are valid. Games could run smoother on xbone since the resolution. I mean bf4 runs at a locked 60 fps @ 720p on ultra settings

Please do not ever go into game development. This is NOT how it works.

That kind of decision is made very early on and assets are optimized for whatever the decision is. It isn't just a flick of a switch.

I think people have been putting too much weight on resolution from the launch, however the issues that are under embargo has me more worried. I recently switched over and built my own pc, but I'm still planning on getting an Xbox One. Graphically, my pc will always win so im not worried about any of the resolution stuff that may or may not get fixed. If my Xbox One doesn't play games day one, that is going to be an issue, and from what it is starting to sound like, something along these lines may not be far off. The day one patch sounds like it may be behind, kinda like how the PS4 day one patch doesn't include everything Sony had wanted it to, but if reviewers are worried, I'm a little scared.
