So I'm watching this trailer, and I get to thinking.. I swear I've seen this EXACT plot to the tee somewhere before. I scratch my chin as the trailer comes to a close, and then I remember.

Jesus H. Christ. I can practically hear the meeting now. About the only difference between the two is Mean Machine was done with a primarily British Cast. I swear it's like someone behind "The Longest Yard" even read the script for Mean Machine, and mistook the "football" in it for American Football.

Let's see, Ex football star. Check. Total loser now. Check. Gets drunk off his mind, blazes around town causing havoc in his car. Check. Gets arrested. Check. Gets brought in to a specific jail by a warden who had to pull strings in order to do so. Check. Gets recruited to the jailhouse football team. Check. Turns a batch of rugged cons into a decent football team, all under the motivation of sticking it to the guards. Check. Becomes one of the few in mates to stand up to the guards. Check. Wins everyone's loyalty. Check. Loyalty he just won put on the line when the Warden tries to blackmail him into throwing the game he's been building them all up for. Check.

Seriously, this is some copy paste shit. What a crock of horse shit.
