What happened to "Only on Playstation"? Why would they even go with that tagline in the first place? Exclusives do not matter?! Or is that not true?

Why not port them to Xbox? Because it's the competition. They assume PC isn't, or won't be in x number of years.

Sony trained us over x number of years to believe exclusives do matter. It was really only 1 year ago that "Only on Playstation" was the tagline they were running with. Now we are to forget about it and go along with what they want to promote next. Just because I guess.

I'm going to say something most won't like. But I respect Xbox's transparency way more than Sony's at this point.

For third party games, like Forspoken for example. Sony loves to be transparent. They'll put fine print at the bottom "limited exclusive for x months".

But for their own first party games which we now know are also timed exclusives, there is no such disclaimer. It's disingenuous and they're taking us for a fucking ride.

Remember when we all thought HFW was a PS5 only game? I do. They weren't transparent about that either.

When they were advertised they were only on PlayStation. For years many of them were.
If people are going to be petty about ports then this will be a rough gen for them.

The first blogpost about HFW made it clear it was also on PS4 didn't it? Or did that come in the next one?

Honestly if you want to play it day one your only guarantee is a PlayStation at the moment. Not sure why some are salty over games they were able to play some time ago.
 
Only difference is if you have patience or not. if you have infinite patience you don't need a ps5 anymore. if you want to play the newest exclusives on release day or asap, only way is on ps5
 
Why is this such a big deal? Is it an annoyance for the potential double dipping from buying on both PS5 and PC?

My plan going forward:

If I can't wait to play a game I'll buy it on PS5.
If I'm not sure I'll like a game I'll wait for a PS+ release.
If I can see myself waiting 1-3 years for a PC release to get the best of the best then I'll wait.

No double dipping.
 
Why does it matter if it gets released on PC!? Does it effect quality of the games?

I personally love to see games like Gravity Rush and The Last Guardian gets PC release in order get some exposure.

Mate it's going to be fine. The games you like won't become shit over night once they release on PC.

You can still choose to access them on a £360 console, or you can spend over a grand on a PC.

Sony just copied what Xbox has been doing since 2016.

If you are fine playing on PC and don't mind that you migth have to wait a while for some games, just skip both consoles

I'm really hoping Sony joins up their PC and PlayStation userbases so that cross-buy works.

That's a sizeable drop of high quality games and that will only accelerate with their MP GAAS games. They could soon offer a PC version of their PS+ extra tier.

No i was getting PS5 for the idea of getting PS5 exclusive game like god of war, horizon, spiderman etc

It was their tagline remember? They made us think we can only get those game on playstation

If i know those game were coming to PC, i wont need to buy PS5 in the first place

Spiderman has been exclusive for 4 years at this point. It's not like they're dropping games day and date on PC. If you want all games day 1, you're still going to need a PS5. If you can wait 2-4 years, don't get one.

Majority of customers dont really care, because there are people who just more comfortable to buy consoles instead of PC. The only people who do care about this are the ones who play this make believe "console war" crap.

Just enjoy the games, there is no need for all this unnecessary drama.

Games like the one's above will be exclusive for a year or so and then be ported to PC. All of those games you can still find only on PlayStation consoles. Sure, they're ported to PC, but you can't find any of the games above on an Xbox or Nintendo Switch.

So you're admitting that the only reason you buy a Playstation is because Sony lock their games to the hardware? There's no other reason for you to spend money on one?

So now they are saying you no longer need to do that, and can game on PC instead. Isn't that a huge positive for you because now as you say you don't need to buy a PS6/7 etc.

You can probably sell your PS5 right now for more than retail price, so I'm not sure what the problem is here.

Look, even if I knew all PS4/5 coming to PC I would still buy my PS5 because I have been console gamer all my life, it doesn't really change anything for me.

And I bet majority people are like me since PS5 is selling well.

I don't get the level of ignorance to think that way. Sony has been porting games to PC since PS1. Granted they were here and there and such. Why would you try to sue your beloved console provider for making more money to create even more greater experiences?

That's the thing. The vast majority of console owners don't care about PC. Us "harcore gamers" like to give Xbox sh*t for dropping their games day 1 on PC but in reality, it doesn't really affect anything. It's simple, if you want Sony first party games day 1, get a PS5. If you can wait a couple of years and PC is your prefered system, don't.

If you're on PlayStation, then it really doesn't affect you. You still get the games at release. The only difference now is that PC will get some of the games 'x' amount of years later, and you don't have to use PSNow streaming to play them.

I remember a lot Xbox guys(or where they concerned PS guys?) going through the acceptance phase back when Play Anywhere and Game Pass first came around. Saying stuff like, "no reason to buy an Xbox", but that's not really true. And furthermore, it's really cool to be able to play on your choice of PC and/or Xbox.

Excluding other players doesn't make your experience any better, does it?
 
Holy shit, I don't understand why people do these things to themselves.. Rooting for exclusivity seems so utterly stupid. One of my favorite racing games is Forza Horizon 5 and I'd love to see it being enjoyed by people with a PS5.
 
It's just old games. I will continue playing them on ps5 as long as there are no big disadvantages. Console still got good reasons to exist.
I just bought miles morales and spider man remaster on ps5 but that's ok.

I just hope that console stays console and they won't lose focus. I don't want console games to suffer or become more similar to pc games which is almost happening with all these settings.

Now give me 4k60 bloodborne on pc !!!!

I get OP point. HFW was marketed as a PS5 exclusive, it wasn't ... Had I known that all PS5 exclusives are going to come to PC sooner or later I would have thought about getting a PC instead of a PS5.
