I know the kind of parents that would "support" (influence) that upon their kids... which is fucked up.

Is this even a discussion to naturally be had with kids? I don't think it is... I don't think they should be worried about it at young age to begin with... let them discover their sexuality themselves... they can transition once they're adults if that's what they want.

People as a whole are generally for equal rights and treating everybody with respect who deserves it.

Why are some people so desperate to seek validation from others?

If I recall correctly JK was concerned that some female issues are unique female. I don't think it's possible for a man to transition to a woman and experience periods and carrying a child for 9 months.

No matter how badly a transsexual wants to be recognised as a member of the opposite sex, they can never truly experience everything the opposite sex goes through.

JK wanted to preserve that distinction. And whether or not one agrees with that should matter little, it's not like she is advocating violence against a group or type of person.
