Be yourself. Dont appear or seem desperate. In fact. Realize that if you dont get it, it wont be the end of the world and you probably have a better opportunity around the corner.

Listen carefully to the question that is being asked and respond to the question with enough detail to cover it without being long-winded. Too often people will either resort to giving curt, one word responses, or they'll just go off on a tangent that has nothing to do with what was being asked. So listen to the question. If you're not quite sure what they're asking, ask for clarification. Active listening is an important skill in any industry and they're going to want to know that you're paying attention.

Be yourself, but also be professional...no matter how swanky the job, they tend to hire based on your personality over a rundown of your skillset.

Here are some tips and some might sound weird.
1. Stay calm
2. Research the company by digging through their financial reports and website. You should know their product, services, how many employees they have, yearly revenue, and if they are growing or shrinking said revenue. Your answers should be staged around increasing their bottom line.
3. Stand in a superhero pose while looking in a mirror within an hour or so before the interview. (It's a weird psycological thing that increases confidence)
4. You have time to ponder an interview question before responding. Take this time to go over your answer in your head and make sure your answer addresses each element of the question.
5. Pay attention to the tone and pacing of your speech (and facial expressions). Remaining calm and collected are paramount here.
6. Maintain good posture. Never slouch or hunch.
7. Always ask them questions at the end of the interview. Ask about culture, benefits, product, etc... Make sure these questions show you are very interested and willing to do what it takes to be in the team.
And above all else have fun! Every interview should be a learning experience for the next. Treat them all as seriously as if you were applying for a position on the executive leadership team.

I don't want to belittle the job you're applying for- But I'm assuming you're young and this isn't going to be your career.
I'm also relatively sure your employer knows this. Basically, these places are looking for people who aren't flaky and seem responsible and dependable. As long as you don't show up late or look too disinterested, I'm sure you'll get it.

Dude, it's fast food. The only thing you need to do is:
1. Look clean
2. Speak to the person with respect
3. Act like you want it
4. Say you have a flexible schedule (and mean it)
Otherwise they'll expect this to be your first job and probably your first interview. That you even care to ask for tips here is a good sign.

My advice I've only really given to people applying for office positions, having worked in HR for about a year. I don't see why it wouldn't apply to fast food too.
But the most important advice, other than to be yourself, is to come prepared with questions. Asking questions shows that you have an interest not just in a job but in the company/organization you're applying with. Ask questions about the company's history, position on social responsibility, perhaps that kind of thing. Ask questions about your own position, even ones that might seem uncomfortable to bring up: ask about benefits, pay scale, pay cap, team recognition, bonus programs, incentive programs, etcetera. Show an interest in a job you want to excel in.

There was also the person who's mom pulled tons of strings to get them a job they would have never been able to get on their own. The person then walked out on their first day because they were bored in their cube.

Act eager and demonstrate that you're reliable and a hard worker. It's fast food, it's a job where the person is totally replaceable and they expect a high degree of churn.
Be early. Be polite. Be well dressed (no suit, but no t-shirt either) and well groomed (shave, comb your hair).

You gotta have that look in your eyes that says you're interested but also figuring things out before they're spelled out to you.
Anyway you probably won't get it because jobs are hard to come by these days but i hope at least you will have a cute interviewer.

I recommend you show up about 45 minutes to an hour early, wait about 45 minutes then get pissed and walk away. If they call, tell them they need to get the shit together and hang up.
Really though, show up clean (clean nails, combed clean hair, clean clothes) and not wearing anything to overpowering (if you wear cologne or whatever). Be yourself, answer any questions honestly. It really shouldn't be too bad if you're relaxed.
And i agree with the poster above about waking up saying out loud to yourself "I got this." Be positive and cool, you got this.
