The silent majority is silent, so people that press for action get results.Joe Rogan and former Apple and Facebook engineer Antonio Garcia Martinez discuss how big tech companies operate like a cult and cater to their activist employees.
That an old outdated argument. That hasn’t been the case since the 80s. It’s mostly used as a straw man argument or disgruntled employee who got fired. Name one big company that has that issue today that you can really prove. Is it woke to not want to be sexually harassed? For businesses (regardless of sector) to not be run by the ol’ boys club?
Thats not woke. Its called progress.
Here, have some free soda from the fridge. Also, how does 25k base sound like? We also got bean bag chairs! It's not an accident that corporations embrace a divisive religious ideology that obsesses over meaningless token gestures; permanently distracting you from observing or changing real world conditions.
Huh? You ever hear of Harvey weinstein? Dudes diabetes is so bad that his cock went necrotic and died on him. Then he sexually assaulted and raped a bunch of women. He was the head of a huge movie production company. That an old outdated argument. That hasn’t been the case since the 80s. If you don't think his sexist rapish ways didn't invade the policies at his company that do some research on it. Cause I'm just gonna assume you're trolling with this question.
To the people here saying this is not an issue and to the other guy saying this is about "harrasment"
here you are:
Now it makes sense why suddenly the walk outs, and their shitty takes on the Florida bill.

Scary, I know.
Joe’s freaking out that they have a laundry service and a cafeteria. Does Joe do his own laundry and make his own meals? This is a guy who gets a weekly IV nutrient drip from his personal doctor.
How he spends his day is irrelevant in a video about how he spends his day?I absolutely love these videos because of how goofy they always are. This guy is legit productive 1.5, maybe 2 hours a day tops.
- Arrives at work at 9 am, then immediately goes for breakfast, starts actual work at 9:20 am
- Leaves for lunch at 12
- Popcorn break
- Smoothie break
- Heads home at 4:30 pm
- Their house has windows that look out on another building literally 10 feet away
- "A day in the life of a Twitter software engineer", video spends over 50% on irrelevant things like date night and gaming with friends
I get what you mean, but these bosses who want to be your friend or role model and get into every part of your life could make your life a nightmare. One moment they are learning about your sex life or ethnic origin to appear very understanding and tolerant. The next moment, they are using what they learned to belittle and control you (including what fear the most here). The problem is not that people are bad, but that people can even often be a lot worse than you think, and they don't even think they are a problem. Is it woke to not want to be sexually harassed? For businesses (regardless of sector) to not be run by the ol’ boys club?

I can see it now, in 10 to 20 years we will be getting abused straight children that were convinced that they were something else because their parents wanted to be in the spotlight. Could you imagine having to come out of the closet as a straight person? It's quite a role reversal. I feel like this is the type of shit you have to figure out on your own.
Jesus Christ that Twitter video. How do you put a sexualised label like pansexual on a fucking child.

The Future : Kids will have to come out the closet as HeterosexualDisney just mandated for cast members not to say "boys or girls" anymore at the parks.
Mickey am cry with his famous opening line.
Well, they're not grown in a lab... yet.The Future : Kids will have to come out the closet as Heterosexual
what's next, being straight is illegal ? lol
They're tough jobs to get and the work is high impact. Devs may only code for 3-4 hours/day but they do need to perform. It is definitely cushy though. Well paid beyond the perks too. Twitter, for example:I don't know if it's me being jealous or if it just makes me angry on principal. This dude is making well above 6 figures for like 2 hours of work per day. This is exactly what the "avocado toast millennials" memes are about, and I always assumed they were just exaggerations.
It's not even like I'm a ditch digger or a plumber or something, I work in tech too, but this is just crazy to me. I worked for a semi-big software company near SF for a while, and they had some nice things like game rooms, free prepared lunch etc, but this just takes it to a whole new level.

The forever war series by Joe Halderman has everyone as gay in the future. Being hundreds of years old because of space time, the main character ends up being one of those rare humans: straight. So, Joe knew.Could you imagine having to come out of the closet as a straight person? It's quite a role reversal. I feel like this is the type of shit you have to figure out on your own.
Wtf? Jafar was not gay. What someone wants and what they get are different. Don't watch a lot of Disney so I had to look up their gay characters.
Being the April season the thought google AI was pulling my leg had occurred then there was Jafar at #2:
The name "Jafar" translates from Arabic as "rivulet" or "stream." Jafar, the grand vizier to the sultan in Aladdin (1992) is stately and refined, with a pencil-thin Van Dyke beard, prehensile eyebrows and dark lids that hint of eye shadow. Unlike the other men in the film, he wears a robe, not pants, and has a cape, and he prefers to use magic rather than get his hands dirty. Many folks, for better or worse, associate this with his sexuality.
Then goes on to say:
The lead animator on Jafar was Andreas Deja, who is openly gay, and has worked on Hercules, Lilo and Stitch, Gaston in Beauty and the Beast and Scar in The Lion King. In Tinker Belles and Evil Queens: The Walt Disney Company from the Inside Out, author Sean Griffin notes that Deja "admits to conceiving of the [Jafar] character as a gay man 'to give him his theatrical quality, his elegance.'"
15 Disney Characters Confirmed (Or Speculated) To Be Queer
Few Disney characters are explicitly declared to be gay by the studio, but viewers have picked up on "gay coding." CBR explores.www.cbr.com
Not to mention the industry wide influence of colour!
I'm still not sure what gender Zoltar is, a question I had long forgotten to care about until now. But that isn't Disney's fault, it's global!
Yea I get that they are doing the heavy lifting for the company when it comes down to brass tacks, but in that video you could see how distracted he was for most of his "working" hours. Maybe a software engineer can deal with that and still produce quality work, but when I'm working on scripting or any work that requires very specific syntax and formatting, it's nearly impossible for me to produce anything worthwhile if I'm getting interrupted or distracted every 10 mins. Sipping a kale smoothie on a sofa with your feet up in a huge open room with people whizzing by just doesn't seem conducive to that type of work. Again, maybe that's just me though. They're tough jobs to get and the work is high impact. Devs may only code for 3-4 hours/day but they do need to perform. It is definitely cushy though. Wow. Those salaries give pretty good context to why so few people "rock the boat" there. That's a lot of money to lose if someone disagrees with evolving operations. They're tough jobs to get and the work is high impact. Devs may only code for 3-4 hours/day but they do need to perform.
