John Wick 5 confirmed starring Keanu Reeves; Donnie Yen directed/starring spinoff movie 'Caine' also happening

Didn't know there was a fourth. That's the second spin off though isn't it, there was one about a ballerina being made?

The first 2 are fun but won't it be samey after 7 of them?

For obvious reasons, four really felt like it wrapped things up. But, in general, it seems like people don't want original stuff these days so existing series are gonna get milked.

Real, from CinemaCon as mentioned in the OP, reported everywhere. Not April Fool's.
I imagine shareholders wouldn't be too thrilled if a studio announced a continuation of one of their major franchises, only to turn around and say "gotcha!"

Keanu is getting old…his body must be wreak after the 4 movies
He does seem to really enjoy making these.

I was betting on John Wick being "resurrected", but not this fast. The studio must be pretty desperate for easy box office money.

Maybe this becomes the action equivalent of a slasher film where John Wick ends up escalating to a supernatural level like Michael Myers or Jason Vorhees.

But how? What next - Elvis will release a new album this summer?

Its possible, hes alive still, chilling with Buddy Holly, 2Pac and Biggie, smoking fat joints and smashing whores on the regs. They got a secret underground gaming lair where they dont have to deal with the rest of us surface scum anymore.

Yeah, I loved John Wick but this is milking on another level. Everything besides the first one has been a blur, except the ending of 4, since I live in Paris.

Hard to get excited about this one. There was some memorable stuff throughout the series up to this point, but after 1, it's been a slough for me.
Love Keanu though, but dude should move on to something else.

At this point I just want a prequel film about how the puppy came from a line of assassin dogs and now it's father, a grizzled old hound, has to come out of retirement to hunt down the pets of the guy that killed his son.

Call it "Jon Woof".

Cool. Keanu has a time limit and I don't mind the push for action and colorful characters over plot (More or less your usual martial arts movie), so I can go for more as long as they can keep up the quality.

Jokes aside, god that was fucking stupid and I'm floored that this sequence was approved for filming.

Anyway, I'm in it for Caine—and especially ol' Donnie Yen. I just watched another recent flick of his called The Prosecutor, and the action sequences were fantastic.

What about the rest of the movie 👀

It was a well-made, fairly typical Donnie Yen vehicle—predictable and serviceable story sprinkled with awesome action scenes. I definitely got strong Flashpoint vibes in a few parts. Eyebrows were defo raised when the credits claimed it was based on a true story ... very loosely, I'd say, judging by some of the crazy illogical shit that happens throughout the film. If you liked Raging Fire and Flashpoint, I daresay you'd enjoy this movie too :)

Ugh more John Wick. I was already sick of it after the second. I thought the fourth was also meh.

His stupid jacket protecting him from bullets and him using it as a shield lmaooo get outta here man

I liked 1 and 2, 3 was ok, and 4 I thought was just awful. 4 just went off the rails I thought.
yeah off the rails and falling down those stairs again and again

They now using the Fast and Furious playbook of resurrecting characters they should never have killed off. Maybe it starts off with him punching through his coffin like Kill Bill or Maniac Cop

I feel like the last one tied things up for him.
Heard the tv show was mediocre. Not sure how ballerina is gonna be. I'm fine with them continuing the universe, but let Keavu rest.

Tom Holland as young John Wick?
He's 40 so not really much younger than when Keanu started, but for my money the ONLY real choice is Taylor Kitsch.

He has that quasi asian look, the deadpan acting style, the athletics, the gun skills, it's BEGGING to happen.

Wick 4 was incredible so I'm game. Keanu is 60 though so I really wonder how much more of this he has in him. His movement is getting stiff as you would expect. I think he even mentioned his knees are bad.

OG John Wick is legit one of the greatest action movies of all time. The rest are pale imitations.
