It’s been a while since we’ve seen good ol’ Captain Jack, and it looks like the rascally pirate has been up to some good for a change!

While in Australia filming the fifth installment of Pirates of the Caribbean, Johnny Depp took some time to surprise patients at a children’s hospital in Brisbane.

Dressed as his beloved character, Depp snapped selfies with some of his Australian fans and even starred in Juiced TV, a show made by and for the children in the hospital.

The hospital also posted an appreciative Facebook message full of patient-and-pirate filled photos. Apparently, Depp and his co-star spent more than three hours visiting, “making a real difference to sick kids and their families in hospital!”

Depp did something like this when they were working on the fourth Pirates film. He showed up at some elementary/primary school because a little girl there wrote him a letter proclaiming she wanted to quit school and become a pirate or something. He put on a whole performance as Jack Sparrow in front of her class. It was pretty adorable.

Apparently he does it all the time. He supposedly brings the costume with him wherever he goes and in his downtime visits hospitals to cheer people up. Most of the time it's not filmed like here.
