Good luck to anyone who wants to open up that can of licensing worms. Maybe Nintendo could do it, but if they don't then my guess is that no one else would dare try.
Whoever publishes would likely have to pay fees to whatever North American companies have already sewn up each series video game rights in the US, so...
Shaman King / Yu Gi Oh - Konami
Dragon Ball / Yu Yu Hakusho - Atari
One Piece / Naruto - Bandai
And then also pay fees to the companies that have the anime/manga rights (Viz, 4Kids, FUNimation). It would just be a clusterfuck. At a time where I'm not sure anime games are selling as well as they once were, it's probably a safe enough bet that we won't get this. Though hell, I'd love to be wrong.
