Nice timing on the update, just got my 3rd year in a row notice that I'm on call for jury duty. There's got to be a limit to the number of years you're on-call, right?

So i went to this shit today. Sat in a room for 2 hours watching youtube on my phone and then a guy comes out and says that the judge said the trial isnt going ahead this week so we are free to go. Then when I was leaving they asked me 'do you wish to serve on the jury when the trial begins next week?' and i was like, hells naw LOL
Wow, here in NJ once your term is done (whether you get picked for trial or not) you are off the hook for 4 years. If they call you before that time you can refuse.

lol, be careful. I know a dude that never responded to his summons either. One day he got pulled over for speeding a found out there was a bench warrant out on him for failure to appear.
I have been summoned twice, but the first time I didn't want to do it and was working so I got out of it. The second time I wanted to do it but couldn't because of medical stuff. I know the local court clerk and he removed me from their pool.
I understand the value of it being civic duty, but it sucks chunks that you aren't paid for it.
