Anyone have experience with this TV? (I think Marty has one)...How good is it for gaming?

I don't know if that's good for gaming. I've heard that it's hard to game with a constant hard-on. :D

I found gamecube games to look slightly muddy when playing with S-Video cables (yes I know I'm retarded..... should be using component). Other than that though, no problem with refresh rate/ghosting.

Get yourself some digital cable + hdtv only channels (HDFOX, HDCBS, etc.) and watch a football game!!

(btw, for any canadians out there, futureshop/rogers had a promotion running where if you bought any hdtv you would get a free subscription to digital cable and HDchannels for 12 months)

:D

Great buy :D!

(I really couldn't decide on what setting looked better though.... vibrant, standard or pro)

Try not to be dissapointed (you're going to want to put that on either standard or pro). This tv is truly meant for high definition sources only.

-Digital doesn't look bad (doesn't make full use of the tv though)
-However, I can't even go near the analog channels now :lol

One thing that bugged me:
If you have digital tv you can't use the "WIDE" function (stretch the image, zoom in, wide zoom, etc.). These features can only be used on analog signals such as DVDs. So with digital tv you're stuck with black bars on the sides.

I was watching MTV on this set at someone's house and I was blown away by the quality. I'm pretty sure it was SD but I didn't ask. I dont think MTV has HD yet.

I haven't checked out MTV yet but there was a MuchMusic (the canadian equivalent of MTV) HD and it really is amazing! I found when making the transition from my older tv to this Sony, that all of the colours are more vibrant and one gains the ability to notice the TEXTURE of surfaces.

It really is a great tv though, HD or not!

I can only speak for my JVC HDTV, but HDTV looks incredible, regular TV looks worse, X-Box games look great. PS2 looks average.

It seems to be pretty consistent for all HDTVs. HDTV looks great. Regular TV looks worse than a regular set.

I haven't been able to find a single set that looked great on both.

I like that the new KDF50WE655 has the built-in tuner that lets you capture HD Local Channels...yay!.....but then again i don't like sony that much...GO Mits/Samsung/Toshiba

I hate working at Best Buy...stupid HT dept...having me look at these TV topics...

I looked at that one too, I didn't like the all silver color though.
