This is one of the worst feelings in the world. I was going to take him to the vet tomorrow morning because I knew he was looking worse for wear. But I worked all day today and was just so tired. I'm sorry my little guy. I shouldn't have waited and you paid the price. I feel like absolute fucking garbage right now.

Im sorry for your loss.
A black cat that was only 6 or 7. Was my nephew's originally, but I took him in after my nephew went to live with his father. My mother was only feeding him and letting him live under the house so I tried to give him a better life than that. I didn't actually start taking care of him full-time until this April. 2020 has been a cruel mistress indeed. 2 days ago he seemed fine. Yesterday he was definitely slower but ate and drank. Then tonight I knew I needed to take him in but thought "tomorrow morning won't be bad". Well I was fucking wrong...

Had to put my cat of 16 years down on Monday. Poor girl barely ate, lost most of her muscle, and couldn't jump up on the bed anymore to sleep with me at night. Heartbreaking but better while she was still 'her' and not a blind deaf totally debilitated animal.

From your posts it's obvious you loved that cat to the moon and back and it sounds like spending a lifetime with you was the equivalent of winning the jackpot in the pussycat life lottery, don't beat up on yourself up bro you did good.
Well fuck me...I have another cat and took him to the vet today to see if it was some sort of virus. Looks like my older boy has kidney failure....man, fuck 2020. I've had this guy for 10 years and even brought him back from China. This one will hurt even more than yesterday's...god damnit.

Thats the suckiest part with pets, they just dont live as long as us..
Gotta take my ol' poo in for surgery on wednesday, really dreading it. He needs two, tore both ligaments in back knees somehow. Totally fixable, and not a huge operation, (they basically tie a fishing line in a loop around the knee) but it's 6 weeks of trying to keep a cat still and calm after each one.. Also had to hunt like mad for his pain meds, apparently there is a huge shortage of some common ingredients.
