I nearly shit my pants during Good Morning Captain. I think that was the most orgasmic eight minutes of live music I've heard in my life. I'm still shaking.

Seeing them live, you really begin to see what a huge debt of gratitude so many of our best bands owe these guys. The whole whisper-to-a-roar thing has never been pulled off with such awe-inspiring and exhilerating resuults, as far as I've seen.

Please do yourself a favor and go see them. Dave Pajo says this is the last time they will EVER tour, so get at it. I think any fan of Mogwai or Godspeed or Radiohead or hell even Tool or Mars Volta would get a kick out of their show. A female friend of mine who hadn't heard a note of Slint came out absolutely loving the show. Just go in expecting something very dark and VERY loud and you'll be just fine.

Sorry you missed out. Just crank up Spiderland really fuckin' loud until your walls shake and you'll get an idea of what went down.

They are an insanely precise live band. Nothing muddy or indistinct about their sound. Just crystal clear noise.

The crowd was oddly reserved. I expected people to be going nuts and throwing each other around the joint. No such luck.
