Oh yes it does. Ever since I hit puberty I've a had a problem with "bacne".I've been using Proactiv for 30+ days. I'm completely clear now. My back hasn't looked like this since I was a kid.

So if you've been thinking of trying it, I highly reccomend it. :)

how do you get those hard to reach spots

I can't reach everywhere, but thankfully I can usually cover most. The only place I can't reach is the very middle - but I've never had a problem in that area anyway. It was mostly on my shoulders and lower back.

Works great for sporadic zits too.

I was just at my dermatologist earlier today and she recommended it for black/white heads also. Kinda funny to log on and find a new thread talking about it...

Yeah my wife loves the stuff. She never had a zit through her teen years. But since she hit 19 or so she has had trouble with acne. She has only bought it once and found that even after only a couple of weeks her skin started clearing up.
I know several other people that have found great results with it too. Once of them now works at a booth in the mall he liked it so much.

I have the same problem Makura. I've NEVER had trouble with acne on my face, but my shoulders and back and . . . ummmm . . . alright dammit ass . . . have always been trouble areas. Not consistently mind you, I'll go months without problems and then for some reason I'll have a monthly breakout that just goes on and on and on. Maybe I'll try some Proactiv next time to see if it clears it up.

Though I have found that Benzoyl Peroxide can work wonders, clearasil makes a 10% solution, pretty expensive though or a really small bottle.

I don't really have a problem with acne anymore, but there's a little bit of scarring on my face. My fucking brother, five years older than me, would always advise that I pop them. And now look what's happened.

Do they fade away over time? Do creams accelerate the disappearance? Or do I need to do something more drastic?

Popping zits worked for me. Although general concensus seems to advice against it. The small redness that it leaves behind goes away pretty fast. The ones that I didn't pop always leave behind darker scars and even minimal indentations.

Skin discoloration will fade somewhat overtime... dont' think craters does...

So this proactiv stuff is what a lot of GAF uses? I've never heard of it personally until now... Do you guys use any other type of cleansers at all for your face? I used to break out a lot when I was between 13 and 15, but I never had a problem for the past 7 years and now suddenly (I'm 22), it's coming back and it's fucking annoying.

i actually started using stridex pads again because i was noticing alot of little black heads developing on my forehead. i wanted to make the area oil-free so i figured cleanser pads were my best bet.

after finishing the 50 pads that come in the canister, i figured i'd try out clearisil's brand (same price but with 90 pads inside.). Clearisil is a helluva lot stronger, and i think its really keeping me oil-free.

as an early teen, pads dried out my skin really fast. but now that i'm 20, they're good.

My brother had some pretty bad acne problems, and he used Proactiv, and it helped a lot.I've thought about trying it because, while I don't have much problem with zits on my face, I have tons of blackheads on my nose, and my chest gets many many large painful zits. It's pretty expensive shit, isn't it?

I don't mean to alarm you but you have dogs on your face
I was highly considering Proactiv for my back, but I've realized that I've all but pretty much kicked the problem now, I think. I use 2.5% bynzol-peroxide stuff in the morning and at night, and I usually shower twice a day and use 2% salicylic acid body wash. I also heard that taking Zinc pills can prevent acne, and I've been doing that for about a month and I think that's helped.

So I think I'm to the point where I wouldn't be self conscious taking my shirt off in public or whatever, but there's still a bit there, so maybe I'll still give Proactiv a shot.

Interesting. I didn't really like the Clearasil or Stridex stuff before... the pads just didn't work for me. It may though now that I'm older. This proactiv stuff is definitely expensive though. Which product in the line gets the most use from your people who use it?

I use Clearsil soap every night and my face is as smooth as a baby's bottom. When I started shaving around grade 9, I broke out horribly. Now it's under control. I blame my sensitive skin..

My sister is that 1% of people where it doesn't work, and burns the skin. Now that she's past her teens, her skin has cleared up, hmm...

Apparently it isn't actually any better than any regular over-the-counter bullshit, just better marketed. It's like the Bose of facial products!

I knew someone that tried it over the summer and she said she was pretty disappointed. It "kinda" worked, but the problem has that it just totally dried out her skin. Not "It feels a little tight" dry.....but "dead dry skin flaking off your face" dry. Cutting back on dosage reduces effectiveness significantly, so you either have to resign yourself to applying moisturizer every 2-3 hours or find something else.
