You can still listen to the OST you know right?

Yes, I am not concerned for myself. I think some people will play every game with their own music and it may detract from the experience for them.

PLEASE!

I think its a god send after playing through Splinter Cell Chaos Theory last night. What an absolute disaster of a score, it depressed me. Id rather put on some green day or Donnell Jones when a games soundtrack is poor/depressing.

I support Ms decision of including this option.

As my post history will show, I am very much an avid supporter of custom soundtracks. That wasn't really the point of my post. I'm concerned about how they are being implemented in the games.

What the.. Amon Tobin's Chaos Theory score is awesome!

In game music in ANYTHING other than a sports/racing/whatever title is the absolute DUMBEST idea ever.

It completely throws out the art created by talented musicans so that Billy can listen to Good Charlotte's latest hit single while shooting people in the head.

Seriously, I can't tell you how mad this makes me. It really is like being able to replace all the music in a DVD like Lord of the Rings or Batman Begins with mainstream music.

Kameo is normally not the type of game I would be interested in, but man it looks sooo neat! I don't know what it is.. i guess it's all the different characters she can morph to and the fact they have different moves.

I loved the Ice storm from Chilla that slowed them so he could roll them over (although he was too slow switching)

Most of the rest of the X360 is pretty blah so far, IMO. Call of Duty 2 and Oblivion are cool but on the PC of course. Kameo makes me want to purchase one.. I just wish they had made the HD standard. I'm not really concerned by the price.

I agree about the game's appeal. I ususally avoid these types of game, but it really gives you a sense that you're in this fantasy setting (until it loads).

the game does look pretty. but the combat looks quite boring.

and while the giant orc battle was impressive, their fighting left much to be desired. it looked like they were just standing still and repeating the same moves back and forth.

:/

i still have some hope that rare can turn this into a keeper though.

Totally agreed, negro. I hate mainstream music in video games.

Kameo looks fricken amazing. My most anticipated Xbox360 title so far.

Well that's the whole point for me.

Bye Bye middle of the road indie-rock EA Trax in Burnout 360...hello Rage/Rave racer / Drum 'n Bass playlist.

At the end of the day if the musics good there's no reason to change it. Sadly 90% of music in games is shit these days. There's more then a few Xbox games I'd gadly swap in some Commodore 64 music to listen to instead.

maybe its just me but this didn't look that impressive minus the last part i believe the rest of the game could be achived on this generations consoles the jump from playstation to playstation 2 was a large jump where as the x-box to 360 looks minimal.

I saw this video earlier, but I could've sworn the controller was hardwire. Hey, wasn't there supposed to be new footage of Condemned and Saint's Row shown? I know I read that.

Only The Outfit, Saint's Row and Test Drive Unlimited were/are shown behind closed doors (gameplay presentations with developer(s)) - no other playable X360 stuff at all (except the Kameo gameplay presentation).

Its completely optional, its not like games are going to start shipping without their own soundtracks.

That video looks identical to what they demo'ed at E3. I wonder if that build shown there is even the same as the one shown in May.

If there was a Power Mac present, then yes, it was.

actually it was a bit different. same areas + plus the throne room, but the frame rate was improved, and many smaller details were present in this new demo. the thousand orc battle, for example, had a much more detailed environment.

as i mentioned earlier, the combat system, in the xbox version, was awesome. its quite deep, as you can switch among forms to keep combos going almost indefinitely. for example, you can do that quick punch combo as the weed which will daze the enemy, go underground then come out with a huge upper cut that sends the enemy flying, transform into that snow beast and chuck icicles at your enemy in mid air, switch back to the weed to re-uppercut the bad guy, and so on. it was a lot of fun finding ways to battle the orcs and juggle them like crazy.

It was a build from August 9, running on a beta kit. It was an a big (and incredibly nice) screen and I did not even notice any aliasing at all. Very nice stuff.
