I just think the word emo is thrown in way to much. I guess it's a semantics discussion, which mostly is pointless. :)
That used to be one of my pet peeves too but the word lost all of its original meaning over the last couple of years anyways. And it describes exactly what annoys me about Kanye's latest sound :)

The song is horrible, but daymn, the vid is stoner material.

I wonder how many millions of dollars Kanye wasted on this so he can lose again and bitch about it.
It was the best album of 2008 clearly, but something better could come out this year in advance of it. I'm sure the age of the record will work against him in next year's awards though so another loss is possible if not likely.

The guys mother died and he broke up with his long term girlfriend.. so he is emo now? The guy might be an arrogant asshole but seriously, obviously not in the same league as some of the posters here.

And where the fuck is my Arapax?

Paranoid needs to be the last single he releases from 808s & Heartbreak. End on a high note with this terrible album.

I hate emo-Kanye.

I wonder how many past artists can now be put into the emo genre.

Is Phil Collins emo?

The mis-use of the emo term is the worst part of the emo term being invented.

Not saying much considering the album is a mess that should have never left Kanye's iPod. It's St. Anger with autotune

kanye should put that on the cd cover :lol

WHAAAAT? Is that Rihanna + Kanye single out anywhere?

It hasn't leaked yet. It was supposed to hit radio in late January, but Heartless was doing so well they pushed it back and then decided to change it.

The video is madness. Well deserved new thread.

Kid Cudi's singing is great on this track too, I wish he just had the beat all to himself.

I can't wait to see this on TV cause watching it on the computer, all I can think about are shitty streaming videos. :lol

Not a fan of the song in the least bit though...

Calling the album a mess is such blatant crap.

I don't get why everyone thinks that anything that contains emotion is bad in music. The guy did pop hip hop left and right. His mom died, a key figure in his life, and he wanted to make a darker album. What's wrong with that? Why is music that contains emotion bad? I don't get it. Some of the best hip hop songs ever have been emotionally charged pieces.

Oh my God, sister getting married by the lake
But I couldn't figure out who I'd wanna take
Bad enough that I showed up late
I had to leave before they even cut the cake
Welcome to heartbreak

First time I've heard this song...But really?

Video was pretty cool though.

This is an emotionally charged song? I know nothing of Kanye, but this is shallow drivel. I'm also not a fan of autotune, but I assume the guy can't sing, so it probably sounds better this way.

the "emo" thing is overused. Rockstars have been whiny and "emotional" in their music for years. If 'Jesses Girl' came out today people would call it emo.
