So GAF, I copped that Cruel Summer the other day.

Why are some songs labelled as -.1? Mercy.1, New God Flow.1 etc.

Also where is that Cruel Summer movie, I thought that was supposed to be in here or released or whatever. What happened to that?

This album turned out to be even worse than I expected.

Best thing about it was the Cudi song, which as far as I remember, was recorded quite a while ago.
Other than the shit-tastic content, Mercy and New God Flow are cool, and that's about it.

That cudi song was so weak...dude has just been dropping the ball for months now.

nobody knows but kanye.

subject matter has truly gone to shit for Kanye and co.

just look at Jay's verse, it's satire level now

Yeah, I'm talking Ye, yeah, I'm talking Rih
Yeah, I'm talking B, nigga, I'm talking me
Yeah, I'm talking bossy, I ain't talking Kelis
Your money too short, you can't be talking to me
Yeah I'm talking LeBron, we ball in our family tree
G.O.O.D. Music drug-dealing cousin, ain't nothing fuckin' with we, me
Turn that 62 to 125, 125 to a 250
250 to a half a million, ain't nothin' nobody can do with me
Now who with me? ¡Vámonos! Call me Hov or Jefe
Translation: I'm the shit, least that what my neck say
Least that what my check say, lost my homie for a decade
Nigga down for like 12 years, ain't hug his son since second grade
He never told, who we gonna tell, we top of the totem pole
It's the Dream Team meets the Supreme Team
And all our eyes green it only means one thing
You ain't fucking with my clique

It was great to me. Pretty much a mixture of his MOTM and MOTM2 style.

BTW, I'm not 100% sure, but I think I heard Creepers for the first time a while ago during a Cudi concert.
Allegedly it's a song CuDi recorded during the MotM days that's just resurfaced and is being used now on Cruel Summer.

I don't really have a problem with braggadocio raps, but they need to be mixed with other stuff. I though WTT was going to get all that out of Ye and Jay's systems, but I guess not.

Oh well, Jay's been making a second career out of appearing on tracks to talk about how great/old he is (:lol his verse on College Dropout)

Yeah, there are a few minor differences, mostly in mastering quality. I believe Sin City is practically a different song, though.

What was the reason behind this? Seems like a big "fuck you" to those who bought the retail version. Was it just Kanye overreacting and doing some 11th-hour remastering to generate some buzz after the leak of the retail (and sub-par reviews that resulted from it)?

I actually have no real issues with the mastering per se on the retail version. More overproduction on the iTunes versions?

So GAF, I copped that Cruel Summer the other day.

Best explanation I heard, which actually makes pretty good sense is this:

The singles of those songs can be considered the 1.0 versions. Since those songs have gone through some changes since the singles dropped, the album versions are like 1.1 versions.

So the .1 means that Kanye did some touches to the songs. But I heard that Sin City was remastered also but it does have a .1 next to it. So the retail version doesn't have the remastering. The only remastering is the iTunes version, correct?

I thought the album was meh at first. Listened to it a few more times and I love it. Like, it's awesome. Damn.

Absofuckinglutely. God this shit's great. Even Made is decent. I haven't been keeping up with hip-hop releases this year very much, but for all the hype Lupe fans shit out for F&LII, Cruel Summer shits all over that blaring PSA.

Listening to this again while preeetty faded. Amazing album. The Morning is one of the best rap songs in recent memory. Raekwon's verse was A+++

Sin City was also amazing.

Was listening to MBDTF in the car today. Holds up really well as a whole, while WTT and CS really only have a few standout tracks that I would want to listen to. That's the difference imo

White Dress is fucking great, I've had it on repeat for the last couple days. Gimme some more of that Kanye.
