Remember when M.C. Hammer wanted to battle Michael in a dance off for the name? So for all intents and purposes, he was the first runner up to the title. Kanye has to fight Hammer before he can petition for the name.

kanye is smart enough to not show himself as such a classless idiot. i am actually a fan and follow his blog, and he is not as cocky as he once was. hes been grounded some. he would NEVER say this and disprespect MJ like that, he respected him too much.

Fuckin Kanye is such a tool... You can't ASK to be king of pop. Just fuckin make music and the public will decide if you are or not. He isn't even close to being near the cultural icon status of Elvis or MJ right now. He does have good stuff but the music industry is far too diverse these days for any ONE person to be named king of pop. He'll have his hit singles but so will Jay Z, Akon, T.I., Timberlake, and so forth.

I really really dont think hes a moron for saying it. He doesnt care what people thought about him for saying it, and he wanted to get that out there. Obviously a lot of people both agreed and disagreed with it. It's pretty stupid to still be bringing it up.

being extremely slow in providing aid to an area that was highly populated with black people doesnt make any sense? it may have been a coincidence, i dont know or care, but it at least sounds like a possible reason.

It also sounds like he was frustrated with the media for bias reporting. E.g. describing the scenes where white people were looting as a "means of survival" type of explanation, and then simply marked the blacks looting as "looters" to make them look criminal. I wasn't watching the American media back then but how much truth does that have?

Is there still that attitude generally across America that blacks are still being discriminated against? I've heard that in certain areas of the US but generally speaking..

And seriously, if you dont read it, dont judge. Period. You think seeing his choice of style and a video that everyone has seen a million times gives you a better opinion? And FYI, those did get cool at the time (although I hated everyone walking around in them)

It was very true. In fact I took a Sociology class about 2 years ago and we discussed this exact topic. He wasn't just talking out of his ass. Without sounding racist, I do believe blacks believe they are still discriminated against. It's probably true for the most part though, sadly.
